The White Stripes Are the Latest Band to Sue Donald Trump For Using Their Music

The famous rock duo, The White Stripes, filed a lawsuit against the Trump campaign and became the latest band to go after Donald Trump over using their music.

Jack White and Meg White have not been together as a band for more than a decade, having called it quits in 2011, but they are getting back together to sue the 45th President. Like scores of other musicians, they do not want their art to be associated with Donald Trump.

The band is upset that Trump has been using the song Seven Nation Army, which is regularly played at sporting events, to pump up his rally crowds. Last week, Jack White wrote on Instagram, "Oh….Don’t even think about using my music you fascists. Law suit coming from my lawyers about this (to add to your 5 thousand others.)”

And that lawsuit, which claims that Trump's use of Seven Nation Army is a "flagrant misappropriation of one the of most well-known and influential musical works of all time, " continues:

"The new association with Defendant Trump that Defendants have foisted upon Plaintiffs through the Infringing Trump Videos is even more offensive to Plaintiffs because Plaintiffs vehemently oppose the policies adopted and actions taken by Defendant Trump when he was President and those he has proposed for the second term he seeks."
