The West Virginia GOP Displayed A Racist Ilhan Omar Poster And It Caused A Brawl
Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) election to Congress has become a hot button issue for conservatives. She recently faced criticism for remarks that some viewed as anti-semitic.

The West Virginia GOP recently used Omar’s image in a racist poster linking her to 911. The poster, which hung during a GOP event as the West Virginia Statehouse resulted in a brawl.
The poster shows Omar photoshopped in front of the inflamed Twin Towers. The script reads, “Never forget-you said.. I am the proof you have forgotten.”

When Democratic lawmaker, Mike Caputo, saw the poster he became enraged and started an argument. According to Caputo, “We have created an anger that I have never witnessed in 23 years in this body and it sickens me. It absolutely sickens me. So yeah, I kicked the door open I’ll own it.” Caputo is also accused of attacking a security guard who needed to be hospitalized.
Omar commented on the poster via Twitter. She wrote, “No wonder why I am on the ‘Hitlist’ of a domestic terrorist and ‘Assassinate Ilhan Omar’ is written on my local gas stations. Look no further, the GOP’s anti-Muslim display likening me to a terrorist rocks in state capitols and no one is condemning them!”
