A number of editorial boards have called for the resignation of Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz. Some of their Colleagues in the House and Senate would also like to see them gone. But the only punishment either man has faced so far is when Simon & Schuster announced that they will no longer be publishing Hawley’s upcoming book.

Following the insurrection at the US Capitol, Simon and Schuster said of cancelling the book, “We did not come to this decision lightly. As a publisher it will always be our mission to amplify a variety of voices and viewpoints: at the same time we take seriously our larger public responsibility as citizens, and cannot support Hawley after his role in what became a dangerous threat to our democracy and freedom.”

The senator blasted the decision, calling the famed publishing company, a “woke mob.” Regnery agreed with him. President Thomas Spence said of picking up Hawley’s book:
“It’s discouraging to see them cower before the ‘woke mob,’ as Senator Hawley correctly calls it. Regnery is proud to stand in the breach with him. And the warning in his book about censorship obviously couldn’t be more urgent.”
Regnery has worked with Conservative figures in the past. One of the company’s offerings is Uprising: The Awakening of Diamond and Silk.
