During the Trump era, Matt Gaetz was one of the most prominent congresspeople in the country. The Florida Rep. attached himself to the former president and frequently pushed the MAGA agenda.

Today, Gaetz is still in the public eye, but for a much more troubling reason. The GOP lawmaker is being investigated for a number sexual misconduct claims. And the issues for Gaetz grew last week when his friend Joel Greenberg said that he intends to plead guilty to sex trafficking.
CNN legal expert Elie Honig appeared on CNN’s New Day Monday morning to talk about how Greenberg’s decision could affect Gaetz. He told host John Berman:
“There’s a remarkable amount of detail in this document. First of all, sex trafficking of a minor, the lead charge here, the most serious charge. The document alleges that ‘Greenberg and the minor met at hotels often with others’ — important language — ‘at which Greenberg and the minor engaged in commercial sex acts and Greenberg introduced the minor to other adult men who engaged in commercial sex acts.”
Honig finished his comments by noting, “The prosecutors are letting us know they have the goods.” Watch a clip of the explanation below, courtesy of CNN:
