The New Face of the GOP is Raising Staggering Amounts of Donor Cash
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been the subject of non-stop controversy since being elected to congress and she’s now raking in massive amounts of cash.
Donald Trump may not being in office anymore, but he’s certainly left his fingerprints all over the Republican party. No figure better represents Trumpism better than Taylor-Greene. And Republicans around the country are more than willing to send donations her way.
According to a new report from Politico, “Freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), the controversial MAGA firebrand, raised over $3.2 million in the first three months of this year, according to a source close to her campaign. That eye-popping haul came from over 100,000 individual donors, for an average donation of $32. Greene did not self-fund this quarter.”
Rather than be turned off by the numerous issues with Greene, GOP voters seem to be motivated to keep her around. This is bad news for people like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney who would like to pull the party back to the middle.
Taylor-Greene also had the obvious support of Donald Trump himself. In August of 2020, the former President tweeted, “Congratulations to future Republican Star Marjorie Taylor Greene on a big Congressional primary win in Georgia against a very tough and smart opponent. Marjorie is strong on everything and never gives up — a real WINNER!’
Great to spend time with the greatest (& my President), Donald J. Trump at Mar a Lago today!
He is the leader of the R Party & his America First policies will lead our party to victory in '22 AND in '24.
Thank you President Trump for always fighting so hard for Americans First! pic.twitter.com/qmCgBx9X57

And the love fest between the two has only grown since Trump has been out of office. The Georgia congresswoman recently visited the former president at Mar-a-Lago and shared a video of the visit. “It’s great to be with Marjorie,” Trump said. “She’s really a very special person, she’s out there fighting hard and the people of Georgia love her.”
