The Kansas City Star Editorial Board Calls for Josh Hawley to be Disbarred
When Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Jenna Ellis were pushing election fraud theories, few were surprised. The trio had long shown a willingness to dabble in conspiracy theories.

There was a a different reaction when Harvard law graduate Ted Cruz and Yale law graduate Josh Hawley joined the President’s challenge. The prevailing thought was that the two men should know better.
Hawley is already facing repercussions for his actions. He recently lost his book deal with Simon & Schuster. His approval ratings have also nosedived. And now his home state paper, The Kansas City Star, is talking about his potential disbarment.
The editorial board notes that Hawley deserves due process. But they continue:
“There should be no question about Hawley’s culpability, and his indefensible actions must have consequences. He helped lead the charge to try to overturn a free and fair election, echoing President Donald Trump’s fabricated claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen and offering a fist pump of encouragement to the rioters who stormed our country’s Capitol.”
The story concludes, “Hawley’s actions were cynical, wrong, politically motivated and incendiary. He has dishonored his office — and his profession. Hawley violated the oath that all lawyers in Missouri swear to support the Constitution, and a formal investigation by the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel should hold him to account.”
