The Kamala Harris and Tim Walz campaign released a statement on Friday reacting to Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s decision to suspend his campaign.
RFK Jr. comes from a legendary Democratic political family and hoped to use his family name to garner votes in this year's election. The problem is that almost nothing about the man's campaign concerns Democratic principles.
The now Independent campaign has floundered thanks to near-constant unforced errors. He has decided to pause his campaign and is throwing his support to Donald Trump.
The Harris/Walz campaign released a statement on Kennedy's decision, which read:
"For any American out there who is tired of Donald Trump and looking for a new way forward, ours is a campaign for you. In order to deliver for working people and those who feel left behind, we need a leader who will fight for you, not just for themselves, and bring us together, not tear us apart. Vice President Harris wants to earn your support."
The statement continued, "Even if we do not agree on every issue, Kamala Harris knows there is more that unites us than divides us: respect for our rights, public safety, protecting our freedoms, and opportunity for all."
