Ron DeSantis is seemingly doing everything he can to prolong the COVID epidemic in the state of Florida. Earlier this year, he made Joseph Ladapo his surgeon general.

Unlike most medical professionals, Ladapo has been opposed to COVID protocols and has come out against vaccine mandates. His COVID denialism made him the ideal partner to work with DeSantis.
Ladapo recently had a meeting scheduled with Florida State Senator Tina Polsky. The lawmaker is immuno-compromised as she is suffering from breast cancer. And she had to kick Ladapo out of her office after he refused to put on a face mask.
The Democrat told reporters that Ladapo had requested to meet with her. When he came into the office, neither he nor his aides were wearing masks. When she asked him to wear a mask, he told her he could go outside.
Polsky recalls telling him that she wants to meet with him in her office. She then asked why he was refusing the wear a mask. “He just smiles and doesn’t answer. He’s very smug,” Polsky recalled. “And I told him several times, `I have this very serious medical condition.’ And he said, ‘That’s OK,’ like it basically has nothing to do with what we are talking about.”
When reached for comment Ladapo’s office said, “Dr. Ladapo is committed to meeting with members of the Legislature regardless of their party affiliation to discuss policy, even when they do not agree on the subject at hand.”
