The American People Will See Trump’s Tax Returns, According to Congressman Swalwell
Democrats will use their new House majority to obtain a copy of President Donald Trump’s tax returns, according to Congressman Eric Swalwell.
With the Democrats snagging the House majority in last night’s mid-term elections, Rep. Eric Swalwell, a California Democrat, predicts the House will obtain a copy of Trump’s tax returns and review his financial dealings.
Swalwell, a member of the House Democratic caucus’ leadership team and co-chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, tells NBC’s Today Show:
“The American people will see his tax returns, not because of any voyeuristic interest but because they should know if he’s corrupt.”
Swalwell states the Democrats also have plans to dissect the president’s “financial entanglements overseas,” as well as “fill in the blanks” on the Special Counsel’s Russia investigation. However, he added: “We’re not going to lead with the investigations but we’re not going to look the other way.”
Trump took to his Twitter this morning to state any probes led by the Democrats would be a waste of taxpayer money. He also suggests Senate Republicans should investigate House Democrats in return.
If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!
