Unfortunately, his Lieutenant Governor didn’t take the same actions when he received his own positive COVID results last week.
Texas is in the midst of an Omicron surge that began last month. As of Wednesday, the state’s positivity rate was 26.5%. During the height of the pandemic, state officials had said a positivity rate of more than 10% was cause for concern.
Greg Abbott is a horrible Governor. On the same day he asks for federal aid in fighting Covid, he boasts about “beating” Biden in measures that would help Texans fight Covid.

Greg Abbott and Dan Patrick both contracted Covid.
Thankfully, both were fully vaccinated AND boosted—so neither were hospitalized or had serious symptoms.
They lack the courage to urge you to get boosted—but the booster may have saved their lives. Go do it.

Patrick tweeted in November that he was vaccinated and encouraged “others to do their own research.” Like Abbott, his public statements have been more focused on fighting mandates than promoting immunization.
Can someone please tell me what @GregAbbott_TX or @DanPatrick or our current TX legislature has done to help our healthcare & frontline workers with PPE and being overwhelmed with understaffing? Anyone?
