Too Good A Worker To Be Fired
Michelle Turner was astonished by what she had just heard. Colleagues had altered their hairdos in the past without any trouble, and now she felt as if she was being treated differently. How could something so insignificant have caused such a commotion?

She put on her apron and placed it down on the desk in front of her. She felt totally crushed. She was aware that they were at fault, and she was not going to let them go unpunished. She was determined to get her retribution even if it was the very last thing she did.
New Braids
When Michelle initially got her hair styled, she was really delighted. After setting aside money for some time, she was finally able to purchase the plaits she had longed for. Michelle had always treasured her appearance.

She was eager to flaunt her new style when she worked at the Chick-Fil-A near her that day. Nevertheless, somebody had been planning something against her without her knowledge.
A Valuable Employee
On that day, it was just like every other. She was stationed behind the ledge, collecting instructions and running the money machine.

Michelle was a real charmer, always full of life. Everyone who encountered her immediately appreciated her. Even if she didn't outwardly show it, she was aware of her own worth as an employee. She had good relationships with her coworkers, feeling like they were even her pals. But, she was unaware that she would have been better off keeping her distance from one of them.
She Was Staring
When she first noticed the supervisor looking her way, she didn't give it much thought. She didn't guess that anything shady was occurring. In her opinion, the elder woman was simply watching the area.

As she got closer, she felt a weird feeling in her middle. Something was not right.
The Manager
Jocelyn, her superior, had given her a steady glare ever since she stepped in. Her face had a stern frown, her gaze glued to the lengthy blonde plaits that hung down Michelle's back.

She extended her arm and twirled one of her plaits. Her gaze was frosty and intimidating, sending a chill through Michelle's body. What was she up to?
Was Something Wrong
Hello there," Michelle said with a smile. She was being pleasant, but Jocelyn's face remained impassive. Michelle was worried. Was something the matter?

The elderly lady hugged her arms close to her body. She watched Michelle's hair intently before making a noise in her throat. "You did something to your hair?" Her voice didn't have the same enthusiasm that Michelle had expected. It was about to get a lot more serious.
A Vendetta
Certainly, I had it done today," Michelle replied, putting on a friendly expression in the tense atmosphere. Despite being pleased with her fresh hairstyle, Jocelyn did not appear to be pleased at all.

Michelle was anxious. She had a hunch that Jocelyn had a grudge against her. She was never as warm to her as she was to the other workers. She dealt with the other staff members distinctively, in particular the ones who didn't appear like Michelle. Before long, she would find herself in a frightening circumstance.
Excitement
When Michelle Turner awoke, a feeling of exhilaration surged through her. She had been anticipating this day for a long time. After diligently pinching pennies, she was finally able to purchase the striking, lengthy plaits she had been longing for.

The time dragged as she sat in the hair salon. She was anxiously thinking about her job at Chick-Fil-A, pondering if her co-workers would be pleased with her new look. Little did she realise that the transformation would have some serious effects.
A Good Employee
For more than twelve months, she had been employed at a Chick-Fil-A near Atlanta, Georgia. During that time, she had demonstrated that she was reliable and devoted to her work. She was dependable and always ensured that no one was left in the lurch.

Through the passage of time, she was able to gain strong relationships with her coworkers. She thought they all had fondness and admiration for each other. However, she soon realized that she was mistaken.
An Important Feature
When she got to the cafe, she quickly went to the rear. She tied her recently-done plaits into a high ponytail and put on her apron. She was filled with delight when she saw her reflection in one of the windows.

She had always treasured her hair. She changed her style quite often, but she had never done something as wild as this. The blonde plaits highlighted her fair complexion, and she felt she looked amazing. However, she had not anticipated the other person's opinion and what they had planned.
Refreshing
During the initial two hours of her shift, numerous workers and patrons praised her fresh appearance. People had become accustomed to her natural raven locks, but the golden hue was unusual and eye-catching.

She passed her day feeling amazing. As she generally did, she welcomed each person with a broad grin. She had faith in being polite to everyone, yet she was about to be treated rudely in the most terrible manner.
Someone Was Staring
It was all ordinary until she saw herself aiding one of their regular clients. An elderly gentleman was in front of her, quietly awaiting as she collected his food and put it in a drab paper sack.

She put it down on the surface in front of him, and that's when she saw someone out of the corner of her eye. Someone was looking at her and she hadn't observed it until that moment.
Her Manager
When Michelle looked over at the silhouette, she attempted a jittery grin. It was her boss, Jocelyn, gazing back at her. Michelle didn't pay much attention, but the severe scowl on Jocelyn's appearance made her gut sink.

Michelle had always been tough when dealing with her staff. She reckoned it came with the role, yet she always felt Jocelyn treated her more harshly than the others.
They Never Got Along
Although Michelle had friendly connections with the majority of her colleagues, Jocelyn was not one of them. She attempted to establish a good relationship, but she was convinced that Jocelyn had little regard for her. Michelle consistently was warm and welcoming, yet she could never tell what Jocelyn's opinion of her was due to the grouchy elder's unpredictability.

She exclusively talked to Michelle when there was an issue, such as when a buyer was dissatisfied or when she was not in agreement with what Michelle uttered. Their communications were far from congenial.
She Disliked Her
She frequently asked herself why the elderly lady had such a strong dislike for her. She observed how much warmer she was with the other workers, the ones who didn't have the same physical characteristics.

Michelle was desperate to be in Jocelyn's favor, but the older woman had something against her. The lump in her throat grew as she was met with a suspicious glare. Did she do something wrong?
She Approached
Jocelyn commenced walking towards Michelle the moment the elderly man departed. She kept her gaze on Michelle until she came close. "Greetings, ma'am," Michelle said with her usual pleasantness.

But the uneasiness in the bottom of her gut increased when the elderly lady said nothing. She extended her hand to the plaits on Michelle's shoulder. She touched them, picking one up and looking at it closely. "You altered your hairstyle?" She asked, her one eyebrow raised.
Harsh Gaze
Michelle's expression changed slightly. She didn't like it when people touched her hair without her asking, but she decided to not make a fuss. "Yes," she softly replied, "I got the braids put in this morning," She smiled, pleased that the elderly woman observed.

But Jocelyn's stern look never softened, not even a bit of joy tugging at her expression. “Hm, let me ask you, Miss Michelle. Do you know our company's rules?” At that moment, Michelle comprehended that something bad was about to occur.
A Violation
Yes ma'am," She said hesitantly. Could it be that the elderly lady had something against her hair? She was confused and couldn't figure out why the elderly woman was directing her attention toward her.

Alright," Jocelyn announced as she let go of the braid and stood with her arms crossed, "you should be aware that having your hair in braids is against our company regulations. Have it taken care of by tomorrow morning.” She grinned as she noticed the worried expression on Michelle's face.
They Were Neat
She was completely taken aback. She had never encountered such a thing before. How did this disobey the firm's rules? The braids were orderly and small. Nothing was wild or untidy about them.

“Pardon me, madam?” She creased her brow as she looked up at the elderly woman, "I'm not sure what you mean. Is it not okay for me to have plaits in my hair?” She was perplexed, and then it became an even more complicated situation.
Unnatural
Jocelyn gave a displeased reaction and sighed heavily when she saw the girl. Michelle had tried different hairstyles many times in the past, but why did Jocelyn take issue with this one in particular?

You can have braids in your hair, but these ones are blonde. You'll need to go and return after you remove them. It's a color that doesn't suit you, so it can't be allowed." She shrugged and then spun around before walking to the kitchen.
Her Request
Michelle was astounded by what she heard. She was flabbergasted as she walked behind the elderly lady. She didn't want to argue, but the demand she was given was preposterous. Numerous other workers had come to their job with an untypical hair dye.

They were not given any direction to depart and were not commanded to restyle their hair. Michelle was conscious that she was being handled unjustly. Still, she was not prepared to accept defeat without a fight.
She Followed Her
She pursued Jocelyn into the rear of the kitchen. She couldn't tolerate the elderly lady getting away with this. She was selecting her, and she realized that it wasn't equitable. "Excuse me," She shouted from behind her, but Jocelyn kept on going, pretending that she didn't listen.

Michelle trailed her into her room, gazing at her as she settled at the desk. The aged lady met her gaze over the edge of her eyeglasses, her expression remaining stern.
Apathetic Woman
I feel like I'm not being treated justly, ma'am," She began, her vision becoming misty as she stared down at the indifferent woman. "I'm not the only worker with a hair color that isn't typical right now.

She had invested a lot of money into getting the braids she had been longing for for such a long time. She was astonished that the mean woman demanded that she take them out. Nobody else had any complaints with her hair. She was aware that this was solely due to Jocelyn's grudge against her.
A Harsh Response
Michelle, "don't cry," Jocelyn gave an exasperated look. "I asked to speak to you because you aren't wearing the right clothes.

Michelle couldn't contain her sorrow as the elderly lady spoke, "You can now leave and take out those braids, and afterwards you can return to the eatery. But until then, I don't require to see you.
Standing Up For Herself
Michelle was stunned by the elder's stern vocalization. She was astonished. It felt like she was in school again, being dealt with like an immature person who was not able to choose for themselves. She would not let that happen.

With the utmost politeness, I won't be taking out my braids,” She quivered as she attempted to protect herself, “I put in a lot of effort to get them, and I refuse to be discriminated against.” Jocelyn loathed nothing more than being challenged.
Intimidation
She got out of her chair and took off her eyeglasses. She then put her hands flat on the desk in front of her and bent forward. Jocelyn stared into Michelle's eyes as she said something in a low voice.

Next, give me your apron and you can leave. I won't accept disrespect in my eating establishment," She exclaimed angrily.
Enough Was Enough
Michelle cleared her eyes as she draped the cloth over her body. This wasn't the only instance when the elderly woman had treated her this way. She held herself in too high regard to let her continue to act this way.

She discarded the covering onto the elderly lady's work area. Michelle was not going to permit her to get away with this. She had enabled this to happen for way too long.
No Time To Waste
Michelle hastily exited the eatery. She had no intention of lingering in the presence of the unpleasant matron. But she was not prepared to let the matter drop.

She got into her vehicle and immediately contacted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to lodge a grievance. She then further publicized the issue on Facebook.
Every Last Detail
She shared the full account on the internet, recounting each and every aspect in regards to mistreatment and workplace pressure. She had been through this torment for more than 12 months, and she was determined for Jocelyn to face the consequences.

Michelle determined that she would never alter her identity to please another person's ideal representation.
A Viral Story
Her narrative quickly became popular around the globe, and she was shocked by the generous amount of affection and encouragement she got from people everywhere. In addition, a lot of females spoke up and exposed the same sort of prejudice they had gone through.

Michelle was now renowned throughout the country, though she questioned what the future would bring. Would the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission have the ability to give her assistance?
