Ted Lieu and AOC Mock Ivanka Trump’s G20 Snub

President Donald Trump has long hailed his daughter, Ivanka, as an incredible talent who can do pretty much any job. He’d told reporters that he’d consider her for any position, including heading up the World Bank. The rest of the world, however, may not see the First Daughter in quite the same light.

During the G20 Summit, Ivanka Trump was rebuffed from entering a conversation between Emmanuel Macron, Justin Trudeau and Christine LaGarde. A video of the moment quickly made the internet rounds. Lawmakers Ted Lieu and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez both took the opportunity to make light of Ivanka’s embarrassing moment.

Ted Lieu, a congressman from California has been a frequent critic of Trump and her husband Jared Kushner. He tweeted out the video and said, “I would like to hear Ivanka Trump’s explanation about this video. Oh wait, Senior White House Advisor  Ivanka Trump blocked me. Can you forward the below video to her and ask for her response? Thanks. P.S. Can you also ask her why Jared Kushner still has a security clearance?”

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, from New York’s District, also couldn’t resist taking a shot at the President’s Daughter. She wrote, “It may be shocking to some, but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification. It hurts our diplomatic standing when the President phones it in & the world moves on. The US needs our President working the G20. Bringing a qualified diplomat couldn’t hurt either.”

The G20 Summit ended yesterday night and the President and his administration will be returning to Washington DC this week.
