Katie Britt became viral for all of the worst reasons after she gave the rebuttal to the State of the Union last week. Saturday Night Live couldn't wait to parody the event and brought on movie star Scarlett Johansson to play her.
Ted Cruz, who has been parodied on SNL himself, had Britt on as a guest on his podcast this week. And Cruz, who has been portrayed in the past by former female cast member Aidy Bryant, was impressed with who Britt has portraying her.
The Texas Senator said to his guest, "The thing that is the coolest is that you're played by Scarlett Johansson. OK, Katie, look. To be candid, Scarlett Johansson is hot. And I am genuinely jealous because SNL has come after me a bunch of times, they don't ever have Tom Cruise play me. How come you get a gorgeous movie star?"
Britt agreed with her Republican colleague saying that she was "pumped" by the choice of actress. She told Cruz:
"I thought how is this going to work and you wonder who in the world is going to play you. I'll be honest with you, a bingo card of 2024 for Katie Britt, I did not have this on it and I certainly did not have Scarlett Johansson playing me...it could be worse...I'm here for it."
