Ted Cruz is Desperately Trying to Start a Feud With Oprah Winfrey

Ted Cruz often likes to take out his anger via his Twitter feed. Over the last few months, the Texas senator has referred to restaurant workers as grifters and offered an over the top response to the Goya brand. He was also ruthlessly smacked down by Mark Cuban after giving his take on NBA players demonstrating against racism.

In addition, the former Republican presidential hopeful has let it be known that he does not believe in the concept of white privilege. So when Oprah Winfrey discussed the topic in a recent interview, Cruz blew a gasket.

While speaking with former NFL player Emmanuel Acho, Oprah said, “There are white people who are not as powerful as the system of white people — the caste system that’s been put in place — but they still, no matter where they are on the rung, or the ladder of success. You still have your whiteness. That’s what the term ‘white privilege’ is. It means that whiteness still gives you an advantage, no matter.”

Cruz shared an article about Winfrey’s comments published by conservative news source, The Blaze. The senator wrote, “Billionaire Oprah lectures the rest of us: ‘You still have your whiteness. That’s what the term ‘white privilege’ is. It means that whiteness still gives you an advantage, no matter.’ What utter, racist BS.”

Winfrey has not yet responded to Cruz’s criticism and is not likely to do so. Nobody really pays much attention to the Texas lawmaker.
