Taylor Swift Gets Political Again — Pushes Early Voting in Tennessee

It may be a nightmare for Republicans, especially those in Tennessee, but Taylor Swift’s sudden entrance into the political spectrum is a win for young Americans looking to have their voices heard.

A little over a week ago the contemporary music star took to Instagram to announce that she was voting for two Democrats in Tennessee, Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for the House of Representatives. Obviously those on the left praised her while some of those on the right demonized her for her decision to finally reach down and discover her political voice.

Yesterday, that voice was found once more, as Swift posted an image of her red, white and blue toenails and a message which read as follows:

“Something I wish I knew about when I was 18 and voting for the first time: ✨EARLY VOTING✨. It makes it so quick and easy to go and cast your vote before November 6. Early voting starts TODAY in Tennessee and goes to Nov 1. You can check out your state’s early voting dates at the link in my bio.”

As of publication, this single Instagram post had over 1.1 million ‘likes’ and has been trending across the internet among her fans as well as her new foes.

Swift’s drive to convince people to show up at the polls appears to be working incredibly well. In fact Hamilton County in Tennessee reported that early voting is on track to match that of the 2016 presidential election, a feat which was unimaginable, regarding a mid term election prior to this year.
