The hosts of Fox & Friends on Thursday morning were utterly distraught over President Joe Biden’s executive order blitz during his first week in office.
“I mean, you look at the total number of executive orders and actions he’s signed so far. It’s 38 because he knows at this point it would be hard for him to get anything done,” panelist Steve Doocy moaned, totally ignoring the fact that Biden has Democratic majorities in the House of Representatives and the United States Senate.
“The irony,” Doocy said, is that shortly before the 2020 election, Biden criticized then-President Donald Trump as a “dictator” for the unprecedented number of executive orders Trump signed in only one term (220, according to the Federal Register).
“There are things you can’t do by executive order unless you’re a dictator,” Biden said on October 15th. “We’re a democracy. We need consensus.”
Keep in mind that many – if not most – of Biden’s directives have simply been the reversal of orders signed by Trump. Of course, Fox had no problem with those because Trump masqueraded as a Republican.
“Okay, so clearly at the end he’s talking about Donald Trump, who does stuff by executive order, he’s a dictator. Joe Biden says since we’re a democracy, we need consensus,” Doocy lamented.
“No consensus this week, except he is fulfilling – he’s got that list on the wall of the White House and he’s checking things off,” complained Doocy. “‘Okay, today’s health care. Tomorrow’s immigration. Yesterday, climate change.’ He’s going through the whole list.”
In other words, Biden is evil because he is a) implementing his campaign promises and b) refusing to appease the GOP minority.
Co-host Ainsley Earhardt then chimed in and said that Biden’s executive orders – not Trump’s – “are scary to some people. There are some attorneys general throughout our country – there are six of them that have teamed up and sent a letter to him [Biden] warning him – ‘look, you need to follow the Constitution. If not, we’re coming after you and we’re watching.'”
So sayeth the party that is still claiming that the election was rigged, despite all evidence to the contrary, and whose members aided and abetted a deadly incursion at the Capitol to stop the congressional certification of Biden’s Electoral College victory.
