While every US Intelligence agency has weighed in on Russia’s influence in the 2016 election, President Trump has thus far refused to embrace their assessment that the hostile foreign power actually sought to get him elected by harming his opponent, Hillary Clinton.
A new bipartisan report, issued moments ago from the Senate Intelligence Committee, has just added credibility to these assessments. The report, which can be read in its entirety below, clearly indicates that the bipartisan committee agrees with these agencies that “Putin and the Russian Government aspired to help President-elect Trump’s election chances when possible by discrediting Secretary Clinton and publicly contrasting her unfavorably to him.”
