Schumer Responds After GOP Host Says Democrats Don't Welcome Jews

Chuck Schumer responded to a claim from Far Right broadcaster Erick Erickson that the Democrats don't allow Jewish people near the top of their ticket.

On Tuesday, Kamala Harris announced that she would make Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota, her running mate during the 2024 race for the presidency. Walz had been given the honor ahead of Josh Shapiro, the popular Governor from Pennsylvania.

Harris made her decision on Tuesday after narrowing down the field to two candidates. Walz is a Lutheran and Shapiro is Jewish. Republicans were ready to pounce after the decision was made claiming that Harris chose Walz over Shapiro due to his religion.

Erick Erickson, the popular midwestern radio host wanted to make the argument that Walz was selected over Shaprio solely on the basis of his religion. The pundit wrote on Twitter, "No Jews allowed at the top of the Democratic Party."

Schumer, the Senate Majority Leader and one of the most powerful politicians in Washington, responded to Erickson's message, "news to me."

Republicans have had a really difficult time trying to figure out how to attack Kamala Harris. Most of their complaints have had to do with the candidate's race. So it is no surprise that they are also having trouble attacking Walz.
