Scaramucci: I Gained 50k New Twitter Followers After Trump Called me a Loser

Anthony Scaramucci was, at one point, very important to Donald Trump’s political fortunes. The financier helped to add a little polish to the President’s often chaotic campaign. Scaramucci was rewarded with a job of Trump’s Director of Communications, though he only lasted 11 days in that position.

Since that firing, the relationship between the two men has disintegrated and the duo often slam each other over Twitter. Scaramucci, though, says that the spats only help his cause. After Trump called him a loser back in early August, the former Trump staffer says he gained 50,000 new Twitter followers.

Scaramucci made the comments during an appearance on MSNBC. He told host Zerlina Maxwell:

“So what I have found is that there’s actually a Michael Cohen axiom. When you hit [Trump] with crystal clear clarity and truth, I was on a show the other night and I said you’ve got 180,000 dead, 200,000 to 300,000 dead by December, he has destroyed the economy, and we’ve got 31 million people unemployed. He goes bonkers and starts firing tweets at you. Which, of course, he did, and I get an extra 50,000 Twitter followers. The point I’m making is that this is what we have to do to beat him. You have to fire at him with crystal clear clarity of what is going on.”

The former friend of the President also offered advice on further getting under his skin. “And you can ask Tim O’Brien, Omarosa [Manigault],” Scaramucci said. “He will start to unspool like those old typewriter ribbons. We can do that but we have to hit him very hard right now.”
