Saudi Operative Filmed Wearing Khashoggi’s Clothes On Day Of Murder
As the Jamal Khashoggi murder continues to take twists and turns that are as unexpected as a snowstorm in Mexico City in July, the latest footage provided to CNN certainly won’t please the Saudis.
CNN has obtained exclusive surveillance footage, which apparently shows a Saudi Operative, by the name of Mustafa al-Madani, leaving the consulate through a back door, wearing the cloths of murdered Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi. The footage, which came from the Turkish investigation into the murder, also shows al-Madani in other areas of Istanbul, including the famous tourist attraction, the Blue Mosque.
Mustafa al-Madani was with an accomplice the entire time he was outside the embassy. After they took a taxi cab to the Blue Mosque, both men entered a bathroom and al-Madani emerged wearing the plaid shirt, which he was seen wearing into the embassy that morning. The accomplice is seen carrying a plastic bag, which likely had Khashoggi’s clothes inside.
Not only was al-Madani wearing the clothes of Khoashoggi, but he was also wearing a fake beard and glasses to resemble the murdered journalist in a clear effort to try and trick authorities into believing that Khashoggi had actually left the consulate after obtaining a certificate to get married.
Saudi Arabia has continued to change their story, first stating that Khashoggi had left the embassy, then saying that he was accidentally killed in a ‘fist fight,’ and now saying that he died after being put into a ‘chokehold’ within the consulate.
While we do not know the facts around the death of Khashoggi just yet, one thing is a for certain and that is that the Saudis have clearly attempted to cover the murder up.
