We’ve been looking forward to the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing for a while and it is turning out better than we could have ever hoped.
The committee is looking into President Trump and former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s secret communications with Russia. Responding to those allegations was Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) who used his time for an ill-fated effort to discredit former acting Attorney General Sally Yates.
Cruz attempted to ambush Yates with an off-topic question about the legality of her own decision not to enforce Trump’s Muslim ban. Instead of caving, Yates replied with a swift smackdown which directly cited the actual law.
Reading aloud from the Immigration and Nationality Act, she said, “No person shall receive preference or be discriminated against in issuance of a visa because of race, nationality, or place of birth.”
Immediately following her response, Twitter exploded with pure joy.
That burn Ted Cruz got from Sally Yates will forever be a pre-existing condition.

Usually when you humiliate Ted Cruz this throughly, he ends up endorsing you for president. https://t.co/3ZOk5thigA
