Rudy Giuliani Will Appear Before January 6th House Select Committee Next Month

After months of negotiations, Rudy Giuliani is finally set to appear before the January 6th House Select Committee within the next few weeks.
The former Mayor of New York, who served as former Donald Trump’s personal attorney for much of his administration, reached an agreement with the Committee in response to their subpoena from January. Giuliani has been engaging with lawmakers through his own lawyer regarding the scope of the subpoena and whether he may be able to comply with some requests.

The Committee is also interested in Giuliani’s efforts in December 2020 in the so-called “Fake Electors” scheme in the seven states that Trump lost. Giuliani may be willing to testify about claims of election fraud but he informed the Select Committee that he did not intend to waive executive or attorney-client privilege.
MTG also texted Meadows on Dec. 31, per CNN: “”Good morning Mark, I’m here in DC. We have to get organized for the 6th. I would like to meet with Rudy Giuliani again. We didn’t get to speak with him long.”@RepMTG 4/22 in court under oath:pic.twitter.com/nJhvSHqeN0

The negotiations with the Committee are just the latest in a string of legal woes for the troubled former Mayor. Giuliani also faces legal jeopardy on several other fronts. Federal prosecutors in New York may soon reach a charging decision regarding his foreign lobbying efforts involving Ukraine, and he also faces possible additional fines or settlements for his actions trying to overturn the 2020 election results to favor Trump. And Dominion Voting Systems has filed a billion-dollar defamation lawsuit against Giuliani for his unfounded election fraud claims.
