During a recent appearance on Real America's Voice, former Trump campaign surrogate Roger Stone claimed that the injury to Donald Trump's ear was foretold in the Bible.
To many Republicans, especially those like Roger Stone, Donald Trump isn't a man but more of a messianic figure. While Trump is clearly the farthest thing from a God-fearing Christian, Stone acts as if he is the second coming.
This kind of messaging was on full display recently when Stone was speaking with another conspiracy theorist in Jack Posobiec. Unhappy with how the assassination attempt on Trump is being covered, Stone asked the co-host:
"Why would somebody hire a very famous foreign photographer who shoots at a super high speed to catch the bullet skimming by his ear? I guess it was to get the best gory pictures of a dead Donald Trump."
The former Trump surrogate continued, "We know in the book of Samuel 1, chapters 15 and 16, when there are two kings, Saul, who I think is Biden, David, who I think is Trump, Saul is an illegitimate king. He's not a real king, but he tries to kill David with a javelin that skims by his ear."
Stone closed his rant, "It happens three times. Many Christian prophets have said that this assassination [attempt] on Trump is foreseen in the Bible. I think that is a — there's a lesson there. So, yes, I'm worried about another attack from him. I'm praying about it."
