Roger Stone to Campaign for Doug Collins Flailing Senate Bid
Doug Collins could have stayed in his seat in Georgia’s Red 9th District and easily won his next few elections. The Trump sycophant, however, had bigger aspirations and decided to run for the U.S. Senate. While he does have Conservative bonafides, he is locked in a tough jungle primary against Republican Kelly Loeffler and Democrat Raphael Warnock.
And the race is not going well for Collins. If any candidate is able to reach 50% of the vote, they become the next senator. The latest polling from Monmouth University showed Warnock getting 42% of the vote with 22% for Loeffler and 20% for Collins. In an effort to get his campaign back on track, Collins will be enlisting the recently pardoned Roger Stone.
Stone, a former adviser to Donald Trump, announced the appearance in a video posted online. He told viewers, “We must defeat the very same establishment forces that tried to stop President Donald Trump’s election and then tried to ruin it. We need men like Doug Collins. Let’s make America great again by putting Doug Collins in the U.S. Senate and Donald Trump back in the White House.”
Collins also promoted the appearance, tweeting, “There’s no better way to wrap up our Trump Defender Tour than a rally with Donald Trump’s original defender, Roger Stone. See you Monday!”
