Robert F. Kennedy's Siblings Slam His Independent Bid For President

After their brother announced that he would be launching an Independent bid for President, a number of siblings of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released a statement disavowing his campaign.

While he may come from a famous Democratic family, Robert Kennedy Jr.'s ideas sure seem to appeal more to those on the far-right. After his attempt to win the Democratic nomination for President, Kennedy is now attempting to run as an independent.

Many in his family have spoken out against RFK Jr., especially when it comes to his views on vaccines. And now they are speaking out again.

Kerry Kennedy issued a statement online today. She captioned it, "Bobby might share the same name as our father, but he does not share the same values, vision or judgment. Today's announcement is deeply saddening for us. We denounce his candidacy and believe it to be perilous for our country."

There was a time when it would seem unusual for family members to condemn a candidate running for office. It happens a lot more often lately with the most famous examples being Paul Gosar and Adam Laxalt.

Kennedy's rejection is a bigger deal than those cases, however, as much of his popularity and standing is due to his last name.
