RNC Moves Major Donor Dinner to Former Guy’s Club
A luxury weekend retreat in early April for the Republican Party’s most influential donors that usually takes place at a hotel in Palm Beach is changing up the program this year. The RNC has decided to move the Saturday evening portion of the schedule to the Former Guy’s private club, Mar-A-Lago to accommodate him as well as any guests who would like to visit the famous property.
At least 350 people are expected to attend the Mar-a-Lago event, which will pour money into the coffers of a man who has some serious legal bills ahead of him as he faces prosecution in both New York and Georgia. Maybe he’ll also try to unload the overinflated property across the street while they’re already greasing his palms.
But it also indicates that the RNC is staying loyal to the man who incited an insurrection rather than admitting he lost an election. This is of course the same exact body that voted to acquit him twice, and he thanked them for the second time by telling them not to use his name or likeness in any of their campaigns. That might be water under the bridge as well, according to new reports that RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has gotten permission to use Trump’s name when fundraising and in campaigns, although no specific messaging has gone out.
In a letter, the RNC’s chief counsel said “we understand that President Trump reaffirmed to [Ronna McDaniel] over the weekend that he approves of the RNC’s current use of his name in fundraising and other materials…”

Other scheduled speakers such as Trump allies Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will deliver remarks at the main hotel that will host most of the RNC’s donor retreat.
