L. Lin Wood, a conservative lawyer who represented Nick Sandmann, has now taken up the cause to back 17-year-old Kenosha shooter Kyle Rittenhouse along with his equally right-leaning partner, John Pierce. Wood, who bills himself as the “Attorney for the Damned” is also a member of the QAnon conspiracy theory cult. Pierce and Wood have set up a website to fund their efforts called Fight Back which includes inflammatory verbiage and unproven conservative talking points:
“The radical left has taken over mainstream media and they don’t care about truth. They will lie, cancel, and defame anyone who stands in their way. But the truth still matters. And that’s why we bring lawsuits to stop the left’s lies. To defend the truth. To defend freedom. The radical left works overtime to lie and attack conservatives – with little or no one willing to #FightBack. That is, until now. We’re always ready to go to court to do what no one else wants to do: hold the radical left accountable.”
Pierce’s former clients include Trump campaign aide Carter Page and Rudy Giuliani while Wood famously represented “Red Hat Kid” Nick Sandmann in his lucrative case against the media, so it’s not surprising he decided to chase down a teenager charged with two counts of murder.
Rittenhouse took part in the Black Lives Matter protests in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting. According to reports, his own mother drove him across state lines, armed with an AR-15. Now-viral footage shows the teenager calmly shooting at protestors. His two victims have been identified as Anthony Huber, 26, and Joseph Rosenbaum, 36. After he kills the two men, Rittenhouse walks towards police vehicles with his hands raised and his weapon still slung around his body. Police did not take him into custody until much later, a sharp contrast to the shooting of unarmed Jacob Blake, who is now permanently paralyzed after being shot in the back seven times by Kenosha Police. No arrests have yet to be made in that incident.
