Rick Santorum Blames Obama For Really Strong Economy Of 7 Years

Republican strategist Rick Santorum is attempting to blame President Barack Obama for an economy that boomed for seven years following the great recession that started under former GOP President George W. Bush.

With the Dow Jones losing more than 11% of its market cap in the last month, Santorum has jumped onto Donald Trump’s rally call that the federal reserve and the previous administration are to blame.

“I know it’s frustrating to him to see the Fed prop up the Obama economy for eight years at zero interest rates as Obama’s tax and regulatory policies strangled the American economy,” Santorum said on CNN. “And as soon as Trump comes in and un-strangles the economy, well the Fed comes in and tries to tighten it.”

Grasping further at straws Santorum added:

“It looks like under Obama, the Fed was all for propping up this big socialist gambit that Obama was pushing. And now that we have a strong market-based president, it seems like the Fed is doing everything they can to constrain growth.”

Missing from the interview are any comments about Donald Trump’s crippling trade wars.
