Retire Rubio Calls on Marco Rubio To Condemn Rep. Taylor Greene’s Harassment of Parkland Victim
Super PAC Hammers Florida’s Senior Senator for Failing to Condemn Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Harassment of David Hogg
CORAL GABLES, FL — After a video was released showing current Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene verbally harassing Parkland survivor David Hogg only weeks after the deadly school shooting in 2018, today Retire Rubio, a Super PAC dedicated to defeating U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, called out the Florida senator for refusing to condemn her abusive comments and stand up for his constituents.
.@mtgreenee, is this you harassing @davidhogg111 weeks after the Parkland shooting, that my daughter was killed in & he was in? Calling him a coward for ignoring your insanity. I will answer all of your questions in person. Get ready to record again.pic.twitter.com/aQjL74x7kh

Reacting to Senator Rubio’s failure to respond to the shocking video, Retire Rubio Senior Advisor Ben Pollara remarked:
“Marco Rubio is the single biggest coward in American politics, so his silence on the horrifying video released this morning is no shock, but is particularly galling in this case. Unsurprisingly, Little Marco always prioritizes his big donors in the NRA and extremists in his party like Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene ahead of the people of Florida.
It doesn’t have to be this way. We urge Marco to join other Florida elected officials like Nikki Fried in denouncing this revolting harassment against a Floridian child weeks after one of the deadliest school shootings in American history. If you can’t find the spine to stand up for your constituents over your deranged colleagues, it’s time to pack it in.”
Retire Rubio was formed in part by Florida Democratic strategist Ben Pollara, focusing on defeating Marco Rubio. Pollara has a long history of success in statewide campaigns in Florida. He recently managed the successful initiative to raise Florida’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2026, as well as Miami Rep. Nick Duran’s reelection to a third term. Pollara was previously a Senior Advisor to Ag Commissioner Nikki Fried’s 2018 campaign and the strategist who passed medical marijuana in 2016.
In addition to Pollara, Retire Rubio is being advised by a rising star in Democratic congressional campaign circles, Nick Merlino. A Miami native, Merlino just managed a six-figure Independent Expedenditure in Georgia during the Senate Run-offs that helped secure the Majority for Democrats after coming off one of the most competitive congressional campaigns in Texas in 2020. Merlino is a veteran of Florida’s medical marijuana campaigns.
Dave Jacobson, a former CNN political commentator, and Mac Zilber, both Democratic ad makers and co-founders of the award-winning political media firm J&Z Strategies, will serve as Retire Rubio’s media team.
