In the wake of one of the most violent weeks in America’s recent history, Republican strategist, Rick Tyler, has called on the American public to “punish” Donald Trump’s administration at the ballot box.
Tyler cited the failed mail bomb attacks against prominent political figures, including the Clintons and the Obamas, as well as the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that left 11 dead, as a symptom of President Donald Trump’s “poor leadership.”
Tyler lamented that Trump’s divisive rhetoric and language was dividing the country. He told MSNBC, “a constitutional republic cannot exist where people are divided. It is purely designed for compromise.”
“The president that last week, more than any other week in my mind, declaring himself a nationalist in the same week we had this horrific political violence”, Tyler continued, “has failed the test of leadership”.
In Tyler’s opinion, the American public should hold Trump to account. When asked who would restore compromise to the constitutional republic, Tyler responded with, “the American people”.
He added that “the only course of correction is the American people going to vote in 2018 and 2020”.
