Report: Trump to Begin Holding Rallies Again In 2 Weeks Time
Donald Trump has had a rough time of it the last few weeks. His city of Washington DC has been besieged by protests forcing him into a White House bunker. Both COVID-19 and the protests have made it so that he couldn’t play as much golf as he’d like.
The coronavirus restrictions have also prevented him from hosting the rallies he holds so dear. According to a new report from Politico, the Trump campaign plans on restarting his rallies within the next 2 weeks.
There are still concerns about the spread of COVID-19. Over the last two weeks, 21 states have seen a rise in coronavirus cases. California, Arizona and North Carolina have seen a serious spike.
Alex Isenstadt writes, “The president has been itching to resume his boisterous rallies, his favorite way to connect with supporters and let off steam. He’s planning to use the events to drive home what is expected to be a major theme of his campaign: that he is the leader of the country’s reopening and economic rebound.”
Trump’s campaign manager, Brad Parscale, said in a statement, “Americans are ready to get back to action and so is President Trump. The great American comeback is real and the rallies will be tremendous. You’ll again see the kind of crowds and enthusiasm that sleepy Joe Biden can only dream of.”
There has been no announcement as to where the first rallies will be held. According to Isenstadt’s report, the number of COVID-19 cases in each area will help determine where they are.
