Plenty of viewers didn’t like to opinions of Meghan McCain, but she did her job for ABC’s The View. The controversial Conservative regularly drew eyeballs to the screen with viral moments.

After she left the show earlier this year, the show has had difficulty replacing her. Since McCain has been gone, the show has rotated different Conservative women. But a full-time replacement has been tough to find.
According to a report from Politico’s Tara Palmeri:
“Sources close to the show said that the search has stalled as executives struggle to find a conservative cast-member who checks all the right boxes. They will not consider a Republican who is a denier of the 2020 election results, embraced the January 6 riots, or is seen as flirting too heavily with fringe conspiracy theories or the MAGA wing of the GOP. But at the same time, the host must have credibility with mainstream Republicans, many of whom still support Donald Trump.”
The show has long had issues holding onto Conservative hosts. The job is thought for them as they’re in constant conflict with co-workers. Abby Huntsman, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, and McCain all said co-workers bullied them. There have also been departures for other reasons. Nicolle Wallace went on to become a star at MSNBC.
