Report: Some in the GOP Think Tucker Carlson Could be the 2024 Nominee

Regardless of whether Donald Trump wins in 2020 or not, the party will look very different when they run their 2024 election. The Republican National Convention showcased the fact that there are very few rising stars in the party. So who will be the party’s Presidential nominee in 2024?

Some think, that like in 2016, Republican voters could opt for a non-traditional candidate. Vernon Robinson, a power pro-Trump super PAC founder seems to think so. Robinson has predicted that Fox News host Tucker Carlson is a shoe-in for the nomination.

The fundraiser told The Independent, “Tucker Carlson will be the Republican nominee,” and added that Carlson is the perfect person to continue Trump’s legacy.

“We’re not in the crystal ball business,” continued Robinson. “We’re in the ‘changing objective reality on the ground’ business, and it looks like some of that reality is changing. If I have anything to do about it, I will try to create a draft committee to make sure there are shock troops organized.”

This isn’t the first time that the idea of Carlson as a potential Presidential candidate has come up. Back in July Politico reported that people within the Republican party were “buzzing” about the idea.

Republican strategist Luke Thompson said of the idea, “He’s a talented communicator with a massive platform. I think if he runs he’d be formidable.”

The program, Tucker Carlson Tonight, is currently to most cable news program in American history.
