Report: Michelle Obama to Get Very Involved in COVID-19 Absentee Voting Push
With former Vice President Joe Biden winning the Democratic nomination, plenty of eyes will be turning towards Barack Obama. He was a very popular leader who ended his term with a 59% approval rating. His wife Michelle was even more popular as she was named the Gallup’s Most Admired Woman in 2018.
Democrats hoping for both Obama’s to play a role in the 2020 election are soon to get at least one of their wishes. According to an exclusive report from Axios, Michelle Obama is going to push absentee balloting during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The push will come via a group called When We All Vote. Also involved in the group with the former First Lady are celebrities Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Chris Paul, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
.”Obama released a statement to the news source that read in part:
“There is nothing partisan about striving to live up to the promise of our country; making the democracy we all cherish more accessible; and protecting our neighbors, friends and loved ones as they participate in this cornerstone of American life.”
Donald Trump will likely be displeased by the news. The President recently said of mail-in voting, “[it] is a terrible, terrible thing. There’s a lot of dishonesty going on with mail-in voting, mail-in ballots.”
