Report: Kanye West Wanted Donald Trump to Appear at His Latest Record Release in Chicago

While in office, the notoriously thin-skinned Donald Trump was desperate to court support from celebrities. Despite offering huge money, few stars were willing to show up at his 2017 inauguration. The only celebs willing to publicly support Trump were mostly has beens like Kid Rock, Scott Baio and Antonio Sabato Jr.

Kanye West stood out as one of the few true a-listers willing to wear a MAGA hat in public. And the rapper is reportedly looking for Trump to return the favor. According to a recent report, West asked Trump to appear at his record release party at Soldier Field in Chicago.

A source recently told Radar Online, “Kanye reached out to Donald Trump’s team to get the former president to make an appearance alongside him. Getting a former president to help sell his new album would have been huge for Kanye, who was a big supporter of Donald Trump. Kanye loves to press buttons. Expect a lot more press stunts over the next few days.”

The event certainly wasn’t short on controversial guest. Marilyn Manson, who has been credibly accused of sexual assault by a number of different women was there in person. Also appearing along side West was rapper Da Baby. Da Baby courted controversy recently by going on a hate filled rant against homosexuals.
