Report: Ivanka Wasn’t Truthful When Testifying About Her Role in Inauguration Planning

While they are no longer in the White House, the Trump’s will long be answering for what happened when they were there. There is currently an ongoing investigation into the 2017 inauguration. Karl Racine, the Attorney General of Washington DC alleges that the family misused charitable donations during the event.

MUNICH, GERMANY – FEBRUARY 16: Ivanka Trump, daughter of US president Donald Trump, attends a panel discussion at the 55th Munich Security Conference (MSC) on February 16, 2019 in Munich, Germany. The annual conference, which brings together political and defense leaders from across the globe, is taking place under heightened tensions between the USA, together with its western allies, and Russia. The MSC is the worldwide leading forum for debating international security policy. (Photo by Alexandra Beier/Getty Images)

Racine states, “that the Inaugural Committee, a nonprofit corporation, coordinated with the Trump family to grossly overpay for event space in the Trump International Hotel… The Committee also improperly used non-profit funds to throw a private party [at the Trump Hotel] for the Trump family costing several hundred thousand dollars.”

Ivanka Trump was called to testify about her role in the planning of the event in December of last year. And according to a new report from Mother Jones, she was less than truthful.

The president’s daughter told investigators that she had little to do with the event. Documents uncovered by David Corn, though, show that Trump was not being honest. There is a trail of emails linking the president’s daughter to the event.
