According to a report from Politico, John Fetterman yelled at his fellow Democratic senators at a recent closed-door meeting concerning Joe Biden's candidacy.
Fetterman makes sense as someone who would back Biden at this point. During his race against Mehmet Oz, the Pennsylvania senator was able to beat back concerns about. a stroke he had recently suffered. After overcoming calls for him to drop of the race, he stayed in and won the seat.
According to the report where many senators raised concerns about Biden, Fetterman exclaimed, "You have legacies, too," saying that they would be remembered for, "if you f*ck over a great president."
Fetterman then asked for a show of hands for those Democratic senators who wanted Biden to continue and only four hands went up. Myah Ward, Eli Stokes, Elena Schneider and Holly Otterbein further report:
"The paltry show of support for Biden behind closed doors revealed that for all the indecision about whether and how to confront Biden, elected Democrats’ confidence in the president had plunged to a ruinous low. While Senate Democrats have largely kept quiet publicly, Biden may have to plow ahead despite an overwhelming lack of confidence from his former Senate colleagues. The majority of the Democratic caucus left Thursday’s meeting just as, if not more, concerned about the path the party is on with Biden atop the ticket."
