Report: Dr. Oz Losing Steam in Pennsylvania as New GOP Candidate Surges

Donald Trump loves celebrities and will do almost anything for a star that has something nice to say about him. So it is no surprise that he is backing Dr. Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania senate race. The problem for Republicans is that Oz may not be the best candidate.

At a rally in Pennsylvania this weekend, Trump’s supporters booed the TV doctor when he took the stage. And now, according to a report from Politico, another MAGA candidate is surging in the polls and endangering Oz’s chances.

The candidate, Kathy Barnette, is extremely Trumpy. And her message is playing well against Oz and David McCormick. Politico reports:

“Barnette’s unlikely — and, to some, unbelievable — rise has turned heads in political circles across the state because it defies political logic. Just two years ago, she lost a House bid in the Philadelphia suburbs by a wide margin. This time around, her opponents Mehmet Oz and David McCormick have spent $12.4 million and $11.4 million on television commercials, respectively, according to the ad-tracking firm AdImpact.”

Barnette claims that her movement and the MAGA movement in itself is the most important thing. She said during an April debate, “MAGA does not belong to President Trump. Our values never, never shifted to President Trump’s values,” she said. “It was President Trump who shifted and aligned with our values.”
