Report: Alex Jones May Not Appear at Sandy Hook Defamation Trial due to ‘Illness’

The modern GOP is a party full of people obsessed with conspiracy theories. And there is no bigger conspiracy theorist within the Conservative establishment than Alex Jones. The radio host has become famed for out-crazying all the other Conservative news sources out there.

After years of making wild accusations, the bill has finally come due for Jones. A judge in Texas will soon decide how much money Jones owes to the parents of the Sandy Hook massacre. According to Jones’ defense lawyer, the conspiracy theorist may not even show up to the hearings due to illness.

Lawyer F. Andino Reynal said in court on Monday, “Alex, you may have noticed, is not here, like the plaintiffs. He may not be here through parts of the trial.”

The attorney noted that the absences would be due to medical concerns and that his client, “has no obligation to be here.”

The Washington Post explains that Jones, “has previously blamed stress and cardiovascular effects from his coronavirus infection for missing depositions in the Connecticut trial last year.” He said in March of 2021, “I started getting sick after I got COVID last year…like everybody else, it attacked the cardiovascular system, okay? I’m 48 and I’m under a lot of stress.”
