Rep. Eric Swalwell Shares a Tense Text Exchange He Had With Tucker Carlson
Tucker Carlson has been swinging wildly for months. Nearly every new episode of his show creates a new controversy. He denies the existence of white supremacy. He spreads misinformation in an effort to make viewers hesitant about vaccines. And he smears any political opponent with little regard to evidence or facts.
This week, the Fox host went after the wife of Eric Swalwell. He claimed that the congressman had funneled campaign donations to a business employing his wife. Fox later retracted the story.
But Swalwell isn’t done with the controversial host. He recently shared a text exchange he had with Carlson. Carlson writes, “Eric, it’s Tucker Carlson. Please give me a call at this number.”
The congressman responded, “Tucker, I’m hesitant to do that. You falsely smeared my wife on Tuesday and now she’s getting death threats. That’s way out of bounds. She’s the pregnant Mom of a 4 year old and a 2 year old. Hit me all you like. But to go after her. That’s just wrong.”
The Fox host simply responded to the message by calling Swalwell a coward. The congressman captioned the message, “After years of lying about me and my family, Tucker Carlson is losing his mind that I won’t return his calls. Sorry, Tucker, I’m just not that into you. Who knows what lie he’ll tell next?”
