Rand Paul Wants Andrew Cuomo Impeached Over his Handling of COVID-19
At one point, New York City was the world’s Covid-19 epicenter. Today, New York is one of the few states that has reopened safely and managed to keep coronavirus cases manageable. The residents of the state have been happy with Governor Andrew Cuomo giving him a 66% approval rating in May.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, however is not a fan of the job Cuomo has done. Paul is now going as far as to call for the New York Governor to be impeached for his handing of the pandemic.
Cuomo’s lock down of the state in early-March quickly drove down the positivity rate. Paul’s home state of Kentucky has seen a July surge in cases.
The Senator, though, says the lock-downs, “killed the economy but didn’t do any good for trying to contain the virus.”
Congrats. This is the stupidest idea I’ve heard in the last decade!
Way to go Rand!!!! https://t.co/vqkDXjG4HH

Paul continued on Cuomo:
“The people we are lauding are actually making catastrophic decisions. New York had a lockdown and had 30,000 people die. New York had the worst death rate of any place in the world amidst a lockdown. So perhaps a lockdown didn’t do any good, and perhaps a lockdown killed our economy but didn’t do anything to stem the tide of a virus.”
Cuomo has, as of yet, not responded to Paul’s call for his impeachment.
