President Trump: The ‘dangerous & sick’ Fake News Media ‘can cause War’

Over and over again, President Trump has referred to the media as the “enemy of the people”.  This has put Trump administration officials in precarious positions of having to answer the media’s questions about whether they themselves see the media as America’s enemy.

Just a few days ago, the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, was asked if she viewed the media as the “enemy of the people” and responded saying, “no, I do not feel that the media is the enemy of the people.”

Just moments ago, however, President Trump reinforced his views of the media once again, with a tweet that takes things a few steps further:

“The Fake News hates me saying that they are the Enemy of the People only because they know it’s TRUE. I am providing a great service by explaining this to the American People. They purposely cause great division & distrust. They can also cause War! They are very dangerous & sick!”

It was just a little over a month ago that 5 journalists were murdered at the Capital Gazette headquarters in Maryland.  Trump took some blame from the left over the killings, given his constant attacks toward the media in general.

Now the president is trying to cause more distrust and hatred toward America’s free press by turing things up a notch, claiming that the media is “dangerous and sick” and that they “can cause wars”.  Undoubtedly this will rile his base up even more in their putrid hate of America’s journalists.

Not only is Trump giving his supporters a reason to hate the media, but he’s also claiming that by doing so, he is “providing a great service” to the American people.
