President Trump: ‘I’m so young. I can’t believe it, I’m the youngest person’
Donald Trump’s 2020 opponent might be Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden, who are both in their late 70’s. It may also be a far younger candidate such as Beto O’Rourke (46), Eric Swalwell (38) or Pete Buttigieg (37).
Trump wants his supporters to know that while he is in his early 70’s, he has many good years left. While speaking with reporters on Friday. Trump claimed to be a “young, vibrant man.”
The president explained, “I think that I just feel like a young man,” Trump told reporters on the White House lawn. “I’m so young. I can’t believe it, I’m the youngest person.”
Sanders is 76 and Biden is 77. Trump felt that he looks much better than them by comparison. He said of the duo, “They are all making me look young both in terms of age and, I think, in terms of energy. I think you people know that better than anybody.”
Biden entered the Democratic race on Thursday afternoon. Despite initial polling that shows Biden with an 8 point edge over Trump, the president says he is unconcerned. When asked how he would do against the former vice president, he replied,“I think we beat him easily.”
Trump, however, would not confirm whether he thought Biden was too old to run for president. He told reporters, “I am a young, vibrant man. I look at Joe, I don’t know about him.I don’t know, I would never say anyone is too old.”
