Pompeo Claims Virus Came From Chinese Lab
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo claimed that the Coronavirus came from a Chinese lab on ABC’s This Week on Sunday. ” Martha, there’s enormous evidence that that’s where this began. We’ve said from the beginning that this was a virus that originated in Wuhan, China. We took a lot of grief for that from the outset, but I think the whole world can see now.” Pompeo told host, Martha Raddatz.
Pompeo went on to say, “Remember, China has a history of infecting the world, and they have a history of running substandard laboratories. These are not the first times that we’ve had a world exposed to viruses as a result of failures in a Chinese lab. And so, while the intelligence community continues to do its work, they should continue to do that and verify so that we are certain. I can tell you that there is a significant amount of evidence that this came from that laboratory in Wuhan.”
The bombshell claim confirms the belief that many conspiracy theorists have held since the beginning of the crisis. The Trump administration has been adamant that the novel Coronavirus originated in Wuhan China. Organizations like the WHO have refuted this line of thinking. They point out that the virus knows no borders. This has not stopped the Trump administration from blaming China for infecting the world.
Trump even labeled the scourge, “The Chinese Virus” which was meant with condemnation from many, including, the head of the CDC. Only time will tell what conclusion the intelligence community will come too. See the full interview here:
