Painless divorce
My divorce was relatively painless. The hardest part about it was the fact that I had just worked three jobs for two years to put her through grad school and a couple of months after she graduated, she wanted a divorce and refused to go through any couples counselling.
Other than that, it was amicable. We had no children, we had no significant assets other than our home and car (split the home, gave her the car and I got a new one). It's nearly 10 years now since the divorce and we still keep in touch, and honestly, it was for the best.
I maybe spent 2 weeks grieving then moved on because why spend my life being sad? I'm now married again, have an awesome daughter, and couldn't be happier.
In fact, looking back, I can't imagine why I stayed in the first marriage for as long as I did (I was pretty miserable in it too, but was under some misguided notion that we should work things out rather than divorce.)
