People Share The Most Ridiculous Post-Breakup Reactions

I think we all had at least one crazy ex. Either a manipulative one, or a cheater, the list goes on. If at least one breakup haunts you to this day, here are 40+ stories about crazy exes to make you feel better about it. The following stories will make us feel like we’re not alone in the dramatic world of dating.

1. Hypocrite High-School Cheater

This girl I dated in high school for over a year was all kinds of manipulative/crazy.

I finally broke up with her after she cheated on me, in her room at her house (so I could leave rather than try to get her to). When I said it, without even thinking about it, she grabbed her jewelry box and chucked it at her window.

The glass shattered, and she started grabbing chunks of broken glass and throwing them at me. Two hit me: one in the shoulder, and one grazed my face. I ran from that house and tried to avoid her at all costs at school.

After she found out that I had told people about the encounter, she went even crazier and came to my house in the middle of the night with a friend who threw a darn barbecue through my bedroom window. That resulted in police action, which I found hilarious later.

2. Unexpected Intrusion

I was hanging out with a girl who had recently broken up with her long-term boyfriend. The girl's other friend (also a girl) was there too. It was 3 AM, and we'd been drinking a lot of whiskey.

All of a sudden, furious knocking at the door. After a second we hear a crash in the bedroom. The girl runs in there. Apparently, the ex-bf had broken through the window in the bedroom and pushed her down.

Right when I'm coming around the corner, he's there, and he punches me in the face, yells "HOW DOES THAT FEEL?!" and runs out the door. I'm thinking "Well it hurts a lot."

The friend was screaming and calling 911. He ended up getting arrested and charged with burglary and assault.

3. Moonwalking to Freedom

I dated this woman for a couple of years. It was seriously the worst relationship of my life. She was controlling, manipulative, and took every opportunity to criticize everything I did and belittle me.

Especially in front of peers, destroying my self-esteem to the point that I didn't think I deserved any better. She cheated on me openly on our first Valentine's Day while I was in bed sick, and still, I was afraid of stepping on her toes, so I let it slide.

She tore me to pieces and broke me down. All of my friends saw it and even strangers, but I was too weak, and too non-confrontational to leave. I was sad every day, yet I was worried about hurting her feelings.

She and her colleagues got together the weekend after election day to celebrate the end of a long campaign. I knew it was time to end things and a cold, dreary November night in a city a couple hundred miles away from my own seemed like the perfect setting.

Over drinks, I quietly asked her to step outside. I told her it was over and she lost it, telling me how lucky I was she ever dated me in the first place (it was a one-night stand. I was drunk. She asked me out. I said yes. I was too considerate to tell her it was a drunken mistake. so yeah, real lucky.).

She ripped into me and tried to shame me into staying with her and I stood there stoically, knowing this would be the last time I would ever have to listen to her try to make me feel bad if I could just see it through, and took it all while she berated me up one side and down the other.

We had been gone long enough to draw a little concern, so one of her coworkers stepped out to check on us. At this point, we were both soaking wet and shivering.

I was expressionless while she stood there squeezing out the fakest sympathy tears. Seeing this, her coworker bullies her way between us, pushes me to the side, puts her finger in my face and says, 'Did he hit you again?!'

So that was the character sketch she had painted of me to all of her coworkers - an abusive boyfriend. Wow. I'm sure they thought she was a saint. I threw my hands up and at that moment a taxi drove by, radio blaring Michael Jackson's 'PYT', as if on cue.

I put on my biggest cheesiest grin, stepped past the two of them and began singing along. I moonwalked the length of the block, staring at them the entire time, singing at the top of my lungs, until I was out of sight, walked a mile and a half back to my car in the pouring rain, drove away, and never looked back. I don't think I wiped that smile off my face for a week, and I still love that song.

4. Faking Amnesia

I once was in a pretty nasty relationship. When we broke up, we'd both gotten this temp job that was scheduled way in advance. So the day comes and I gird my loins preparing for the worst - what I got was something I couldn't prepare for. We were doing first-day introductions and she showed up late.

We do a quick catch-up round and when it gets to me she stares at me blankly: "What's your name?"

I heard from a mutual friend that she was in a car crash and got temporary amnesia

Then I heard from another friend that she slipped in the rain. In fact, I heard a bunch of different stories and am forced to conclude that in fact what had happened was she pretended to have amnesia with multiple people in order to deal with our breakup.

5. Late-Night Drama

My ex has been turning up on my doorstep begging to be let in at ridiculous o'clock. One night my housemate, who didn't understand completely her level of craziness, let her in because he felt sorry for her.

Cue sitting on the end of my bed crying, shaking, and saying that if I make her leave she will take the 120 pills she has been stockpiling.

I told her I wasn't being blackmailed and to get the hell out of my house, she left and I caved 30 guilt-racked minutes later and phoned her.

She didn't answer her phone so I lost it, phoned her mom, dad, best friend, anyone I could think of to get around there and make sure she was OK. After 15 minutes of this, she texts me saying, 'I threw them away, stop acting crazy'

6. The Breakup That Took a Wild Turn

Not mine but my friend’s. Well, he lived about 40 minutes away from this crazy crazy horrible woman but it was near where he went to school. Well, one night after four years he decided it was it he was gonna break it off.

He goes over after class at like 8 or so and says his business, tells her why and everything, and she's all “sad-crying-face” and “don't leave”. Well, it takes him 2 hours to get her calm enough to let him leave.

So, he's driving down the interstate at like 10-10:30 and these lights come flying up next to him, it's her and she's hanging out the window and screaming and all of a sudden her car swerves and she goes across the median, and flips her car three times.

This is the point where he calls me losing it, thinking it's his fault she died or whatever. Anyway, she just ended up with a broken thumb and a new therapist.

7. A Legal Battle for Freedom

My ex took all the paintings out of the house (some were valuable?) and left for months. He had my car repo'd so I figured we were through. We have a kid together but he seems to not care. Fast forward 2 years later... I get married and carry on my merry way.

He visits his kid.. refuses to bring her back, hides her in another state until my attorney and private investigator hunt him down, and has a judge order him back to the state, only to have him fully comply after 90 days of missing and scaring the heck out of me.

He then continued to harass me daily until I finally took him back to court to have it stopped, he was hit with contempt, ordered to pay my attorney's fee, and told by the judge "Sir, you are going to have to find a new girlfriend .. this one has been married for two years. I will put you in jail".

8. A Love Triangle Gone Wild

My ex had recently moved due to getting a new job; I was still going to college and we were trying out the long-distance thing. She was visiting for a weekend, and we decided to fool around in my room.

We proceeded to do some things together, and she went to the bathroom. I get a phone call. It's a guy, he knows my name, he starts yelling at me, demanding to know if I've been having intimacy with his new girlfriend. Turns out we were dating the same girl.

I confronted her. She starts screaming and crying, accusing me of cheating, so I turn away from her and tell her to get the hell out of my house.

She roars like she's possessed and grabs a cell phone charger and whips me in the back with it.

Before I can turn around, she jumps on my back and wraps it around my neck. I am just flabbergasted. Since I am a 5'10", 170 lb male and she's approx 5' 100 I just picked her up and calmly tossed her out of my room.

After tearing the posters off our walls in the living room, she takes the yogurt out of the refrigerator and tosses it all over the kitchen wall.

9. Forget-Me-Not

In my senior year of high school, I dated a guy who had been a good friend since freshman year.

We had a lukewarm relationship, but it was pleasant. Then, on our two-month anniversary (at the time, it seemed like quite the commitment) he dumped me over coffee, saying that he sometimes forgot I was his girlfriend.

At that point, I dramatically sauntered out of the coffee place with him trailing behind muttering apologies. I jumped into my car, and right before I slammed the door shut I yelled "No one forgets me!" as it started to rain.

The whole boring relationship was worth it just so that I could experience such a cinematic moment.

10. Crying Over Spilled Milk

I once dated a guy who absolutely loved to cry. Basically, his only hobbies were misbehaving and crying. It is really embarrassing when you're just trying to get groceries and your boyfriend won't stop loudly crying because you don't listen to his stories about cereal intently enough.

Anyway, I finally had enough and broke up with him one night. He refused to leave my couch.

I eventually had to hide in my room while listening to him sob for hours and periodically yell "I LOVE YOU!" Then, when he finally left my couch, he sat in my driveway and cried for hours.

He still constantly sends me texts asking if we can be friends and letting me know that he cries for me every night. Keep in mind, that this was not a very serious relationship.

11. All Of This For Nothing

I think my best friend wins. Her boyfriend broke up with her and she wanted him back. She decided to pretend that she was pregnant with his baby. She printed out ultrasounds from the Internet and showed his entire family.

He let her move in with him and they got back together.

She was trying to get pregnant since you know, they were expecting a baby in 8 months.

She eventually got pregnant two months later. No one in the family ever questioned her 11-month pregnancy. They're still unhappily together with a 4-year-old.

12. Escaping a Toxic Dinner

I was at my (now ex) girlfriend's house eating dinner. She was a chef by trade, so her food was always scrumptious, to say the least.

She was smoking hot, which was what I was attracted to initially, but I stuck around in the toxic relationship we had because that girl could COOK. (I say the relationship was toxic because she was a little bit crazy.)

Anyway, so we're eating dinner, and she brings up the topic of a girl I know. At this point, I'm feeling kind of dizzy, and she asks me if I have anything to admit. I hadn't cheated on her, so I said "No... I don't feel very good."

She tells me she thinks I'm lying, and that she added toxic substances in my food. Survival instinct kicks in, and I stand up from the table. I did the only thing I knew would save my skin, I started climbing. I climbed faster than I ever had in my life. Up, up, around a rock, and up some more.

I made absolutely sure that I hit every button on the way up. When I reached the top, confetti rained around me, and I knew I'd finally conquered the Crag. D-D-D-DO YOU HAVE IT?

13. Unannounced Visit

MONTHS after we had broken up, I was spending a quiet evening at home with my new boyfriend, and I heard a furious knocking on the door. I look out the window and my heart sinks when I see his car outside.

No call or text to say he's coming by, just repetitive, obnoxious knocking. I text him, politely asking him to leave, that I have company and he has no business being here. He refuses and says he will stay until I come down and see him.

The relationship had been pretty emotionally abusive, so I stonewalled him for about 30 minutes. Eventually, I cave and go to the door. He'd finally cut his hair and had a six-pack of Yuengling. Most feeble attempt I'd seen.

Spent the next hour drinking beer on the stoop trying to convince him he'll be alright. Refuses to speak to me this day. Crazy kid.

14. Love's Freefall

I used to live with my girlfriend on the third floor of an apartment building. Over time, she was becoming really irritable and lazy, and I decided it was time for us to break up.

The lease had just ended, so I'd be free to go, so I told her that we needed to break up.

She ran at me, tackled me, and we went smashing through the window and fell down 30-40 feet into the dumpster.

I am SO glad there was a dumpster there because I'm certain I would be dead. Needless to say, she's in a mental hospital now.

15. Lies, Manipulation, and… Hacking

My girlfriend was the same way. Compulsive liar, bipolar, etc. Before we broke up, she said she got attacked, not one, but two times.

She said someone slipped something in her drink at a party. One night in the middle of a group of friends she stood up, threw her keys at me and screamed, "YOU SAID HER NAME IN YOUR SLEEP." (Her, referring to my ex-girlfriend.)

We lived in the dorms, and instead of trying to talk her down in her room, she would run out into the hallway so she could get all the attention she wanted.

Unfortunately, we lived in the same dorm and she lived down the hall. I broke up with her as soon as we got out of school.

A few weeks later, I saw her at a funeral for one of our friends. Later that night she pulled me aside and told me that she had a miscarriage. Note: She was on birth control.

She told a bunch of people this, but her story didn't seem to line up when all of us compared. This was back in July. Fast forward to January, and I'm in a healthy relationship.

She hacks into my email, and sends an email to herself, pretending to be my girlfriend. Insulting my entire family, one of my exes, and my mutual friends. I assumed it was to try to get our mutual friend to stop talking to me, but it didn't work. Pretty sure she's completely out of my life now. Hopefully.

16. Obsession and Recovery

I was dating a Bosnian chick in 2008 that I went up in smoke for. She was everything awesome bundled in an amazing body and was all about me, for some reason.

I don't have great confidence in myself with women, so I was definitely considering the likelihood of me being out of her league. And that led to my ever-growing love, or perhaps some a simple desire to not be left by her.

She was further ahead in life professionally, and I think that she was frightened by that. After about 2 months of dating (I know, it wasn't a long time), I started to become nauseated whenever I wasn't around her and lost my appetite for a few weeks.

I would vomit if I had to go a night without seeing her, it was bad. I honestly don't know why I reacted that way, it has never happened to me before in my life. Well, she did eventually end the relationship but wanted to remain friends.

I went along for a couple of weeks but was suffering from severe withdrawal - My appetite completely disappeared, as I was surviving daily on one energy drink and a bag of popcorn every 24 hours.

It wasn't until I went out one night with some friends drinking, and she texted me saying she might want to meet up afterward. I got stupid excited over the possibility and convinced myself it WAS going to happen, not maybe.

Later, she messaged me saying it would be a no-go, she was going to another get-together with some friends (And a guy she had mentioned that I suspected was trying to court her).

I was crushed, and in a panicked frenzy, I drove to a spot where we would usually meet up to hang out and make out. It was right down the road from her house.

After a few minutes of waiting, I saw her car start coming toward me. I was anxious to talk to her to try to win her back, or something, but when the car came up next to mine, it was her little brother driving with her mom.

I don't know why they were driving the car. All I know is I was a drunk mess asking them where she was and if they had talked to her, full-blown stalker creepy.

For the past couple hours she had stopped responding to my texts and calls, so I know I sounded extra desperate in my speaking to them. After a few minutes, I left.

I left feeling extremely ashamed but still holding out hope that I could apologize and fix things. I texted her the next morning and said "I'm sorry about last night."

She responded with "Please leave me alone". And I did. I knew how off the deep end I had gone, and I knew that I owed her the respect of granting her that request.

Again, I have never had my emotions take such control over my actions and thinking before in my life. That was the most extreme case of dependency I have ever experienced, and I don't think I could ever admit to someone IRL that I suffered from such a mental breakdown.

In retrospect, I'm glad it ended because the physical wear I was enduring from not eating and vomiting frequently was not good for my body. I lost 30lbs in less than a month and almost had to go to the emergency room. So, silver lining I suppose.

17. Losing Someone Special

I used to date this girl in high school. We will call her ex. She was a really nice girl but just too nice for me. I really liked her but none of my friends did. She was not cool or something. It was 20-ish years ago.

Anyhow I broke it off with my ex between periods and then she found me on the next period and wouldn't leave me alone. It really was me being a total dirtbag. She was really awesome.

Anyhow, she followed me into the bathroom where I pushed her out and said leave me alone crazy lady. I never spoke to her again. The summer came and I went to my mom's house for the summer in a different state.

When I got back I was hanging with my homie Derp, and he was like “Remember Ex?” I sighed ..."yeah she was nuts." He told me she had died. Leukemia or something. I still feel bad. I treated her like dirt. She was too cool for me. I am a failure.

18. Obsessive Teenage Love

I had a girlfriend back when I was 18 that had ‘the crazy eyes’. I just ignored it, but then she started talking about having a kid together, and to that I said "No."

Well, one day I walk into my room and I catch her poking holes in our contraceptives with a tiny needle so we get in a huge fight and break up.

Two days later, I came home and she broke into my house, took like 30 aspirin, and was laying on my bed convulsing, covered in pictures of me. All the while she was on top of my cat crushing the poor little thing. Teenage girls are crazy.

19. Stalked by an Ex

It was in high school, and we'd been dating for about 3 months. I tried taking her to a public place so she couldn't make a scene. However, I made the mistake of driving her there.

She sensed it coming, and wouldn't get out of the car. We talked it through, she cried, begged, and did everything she could to deny it was over. I'd been on both ends of breakups before, and I knew pretty well how to handle them. And yet, it became painfully obvious I wasn't going to accomplish anything.

I drove her to her home and tried rationally to convince her it was over. She continued to argue and plead, and after perhaps 30 minutes in her drive, I lost it and began yelling for her to get out of the car.

She locked the door, refastened her seat belt, and stayed put. After another 10 minutes of sheer yelling at the top of my lungs, she finally caved and left. Thank god that was over.

A few days and quite a bit of gossip later, I opened my locker to find a marble notebook inside. (I'd never told her my combination.) I open the notebook to find essentially a diary, except that every entry is written to me. There was a note imploring me to read everything so that I would "understand." Fine.

Weird, borderline psychotic writing, until it got to the end, where a few entries had been hastily made to look as though she had come to terms with everything. Creepy. as. hell.

There were a few other things, like coming through my neighborhood at night to leave a couple of potatoes on my car drawn to look like people. They were smashed, and there was a note saying, "You're next." But that's the gist of it.

20. Terrifying Surprise

After I broke up with a guy who I was in a long-distance relationship with (we were teenagers and his parents moved away) I broke up with him.

He then stole money from his parents, took a bus for 12 hours to get to the city I lived in and broke into my house in the middle of the night.

My parents were out of town for the weekend and I was by myself, so I was pretty scared.

He then proceeded to hurt himself in my kitchen and then said he was going to hurt me too but, he clearly didn't think his plan through properly because he was too weak after hurting himself to hold the knife so I was able to call for help.

21. Trapped in the Trunk

A good college buddy of mine worked with a woman who had a psychopath ex-boyfriend. She was afraid for her life, so my buddy offered to stay with her for a while to keep her safe.

Just a genuine friend helping a friend type thing. They would keep a journal of all the crazy stuff he did and call the cops with it daily. He'd sneak in while she was at work and hide in a closet ALL NIGHT, and other nutty things.

Well, one morning my buddy looked out the window and noticed her trunk was ajar slightly.

He knew it wasn't that way the previous day and concluded, correctly, that the psycho was hiding in the trunk.

He called the cops, who knew him by first name by now, and two officers came by. They were just finishing up their overnight shift and were none too pleased with the psycho. They tried to open the trunk, but the guy was hanging onto the slats to keep it shut.

Finally one of the officers got tired of this, went to his patrol car, got a can of tear gas, popped it, pried the trunk open, threw it in, then slammed the trunk shut. Dude wanted out after that.

22. The Last Walk Home

When I broke up with my high school boyfriend of two years (a stage five clinger, as you'll read), he threw a full-on temper tantrum. Yelling at me, crying, screaming for a couple of hours. Finally, when it started getting dark and cold, he stopped long enough for me to say I had better get home.

He asked if he could walk me home one last time. I was dumb. Very, very dumb. I stupidly agreed, thinking I don't live very far away (maybe a 15-minute walk) and I felt a lot of pity.

Not a minute into the walk the guy asks to borrow my cell, which he uses to call his mother and then explain everything that just happened with me there, taking breaks in the explanation to fall on the ground sobbing.

As if the passing looks from strangers weren't enough of a hint that somebody up there had to be getting a kick out of this, the guy then raised the phone up to me and said that his mother wanted to talk to me. Oh boy.

His mother confirms everything and then asks me why I was breaking up with her son. I explain my answers like a bau5, although I really want to just hang up and run.

It unfortunately gets worse though, because he's still sobbing on the sidewalk refusing to move and then his mother begins asking and practically begging me to take him back.

In the end, it took about forty-five minutes to get home because of his antics. Why I didn't just run, I'm not entirely sure.

Told me she could never truly love me because I told her I didn't want to have girls. Turned into a lesbian.

24. Rock Concert, Exes, and Unwanted Gifts

Broke up with a guy after he went wild on me for going to see a classic rock concert with my cousins, while he was at work. I told him I was going and he seemed fine until the concert started. Once it started, he did everything in his power to try and ruin it for me via phone.

After the show was over, I attempted to fix things by stopping by his apartment to talk. He tries to run away and avoid confrontation like a child. Long story short - he ended up strangling me with my shirt that night and I decided the relationship wasn't worth it.

Started seeing somebody new and I started receiving messages from the ex like "I can see your bathroom light from the street, you should turn it off"..., this was while I was at my new guy's place.

The best part was when he called at 1:30 in the morning, demanding to drop off things I left behind... It was bad I didn't plan on keeping lol.

He shows up at 2 a.m. Driving his mother's car, wearing a trench coat to drop off: a plastic container, a hair clip, and a picture...

25. Surprise Betrayal

I went to surprise my girlfriend who was house-sitting for her grandma. She said she was having people over so I assumed even at midnight, people would still be there.

I park my car across the street and start walking to the door, I notice the door is open but the screen door is closed. My guess was that the house must've smelled like substances or something, so she left the door open.

As I neared the screen door, I saw bouncing on the couch and it was some topless chick.

As I walk closer, I see it's my girlfriend with this dude I've seen before at her theater rehearsals.

I walked in and said, "Are you serious?" she covered herself up and didn't even get off the guy. I took the ring off her finger, told the guy to get the hell out, who didn't listen, so I punched the metal banister because I didn't want to pay for a hole in the wall.

Hit it multiple times, I broke my 4th metacarpal. stood there, hand bleeding, the guy freaked out and left.

26. The Crazy Car Confession

I was dating a woman a few years back and it wasn't going well. I was dropping her off one evening and told her such. She started hyper-ventilating and refused to get out of my car.

I got out and went to the passenger side to kind of console her and make sure she got in her house okay. She hopped to the driver's side, I went to the driver's side and she hopped back over to the passenger side.

This goes on for a few minutes. She finally gets out and lays under my car in between the front and rear tires. After a few minutes, I coaxed her out and left after she punched me in the face a few times.

The next day her Sister called me and asked if I knew where she was.

I found out a couple of days later when she showed up at my house to apologize that the cops had shown up that night because she was going nuts in the street after I left.

She then kicked out the rear window of the cop car, while the cops were talking to neighbors, hopped out while in cuffs, and ran off.

They found her hiding under a porch a couple of blocks away. I should note that when I met her she was beating the hell out of a telephone booth. So I guess I should have had a clue.

27. Stalking and Lawsuits

I met this girl at work and we just clicked, she was smart and very funny however I wasn't looking for a relationship as I've been with my SO for years. We go out for coffee and the topic of relationships comes up (red flag number one.)

I tell her I'm seeing someone and that I'd love to be her friend, she agrees and all seems well. Over the next week, we started to hang out and everything seemed fine until she told me she was pregnant as a result of a one-night stand.

I had made it very clear I just wanted to be friends so I was as supportive as I could be. The second week into our new friendship she tells me she's in love with me, wants to be with me, and start a family.

I stop dead in my tracks and tell her that is never going to happen and that my girlfriend doesn't feel at ease with our friendship (rightly so) so I will have to call it a day. This is where the crazy starts.

First, my phone blows up with abusive messages and phone calls, all of these go unanswered and they become worse.

She started spreading rumors at work, she told my boss that we did things on the job and that I smoked at work.

She threatened to do bad things to her baby if I didn't 'go back to her.' This went on for weeks, and I ended up quitting my job (I got a better one) and getting a restraining order against her.

Fast forward three months and the messages start up again only this time she found family members on social media and started harassing them. The calls started up again only this time they were not angry or hurtful, they were of desperation. Again I ignored everything and they stopped after a week or so.

Last week she sent me a very angry message. Apparently, someone filed a complaint to her boss saying she took her clients home (we both work in disabled care) and smoked. She assumes it was me and is trying to sue me.

28. From Clothes to Chaos

I once dated a chick who after I broke up with her, proceeded to go in my closet, take ALL my work pants, unzip the zippers halfway then rip them the rest of the way down.

Took my favorite pair of sunglasses and scratched “YOU MONSTER” into them then threw them behind my dresser ( found them 2 weeks later), stole my address book out of my truck (literally broke into my truck at work through the window), and called every female in it to ask if I was messing with them (some were my AUNTS !!!).

She worked at one of those companies that call and harass you at work for overdue bills so she had all kinds of tools to use to get personal info and kept messing with my female friends who she knew while we were dating and having coworkers mess with them at their jobs.

When I found out about this I threatened to report her if she didn't stop and pay me for damaged clothes she agreed. She came to my apartment and then proceeded to BITE my arm until it bled to the bone.

After removing her and calling the cops she told them I was choking her, but they could find no marks on her and she was arrested. I had to file a restraining order on a 110 lb Asian chick, real manly.

29. Teenage Nightmare

When I was 16 I dated this guy who always seemed nice.

Broke it off after two months and ex snapped. He accused me of cheating (no cheating happened) and over the next two weeks contacted ALL my friends and tried to convince them I was a horrible whore and to get them to help with a revenge plot he'd come up with.

This includes friends he'd never met who lived in other states.

He even called my mother and told her I had "committed infidelity" and that we were no longer together.

He then asked if he could come to my house and have a "little talk" with me, and asked my mom not to warn me ahead of time. She told him I was out of town and blocked his number.

He wanted to have all the people he'd recruited to surround me in the hallway and "confront me". Block me from leaving. Yell insults. Get me hurt.

We ended up getting the school administration involved. After they told him if he tried anything else they'd contact police, he backed off.

30. The $15 Revenge

When I was 19, my girlfriend of 7 months cheated on me with a friend of mine. I keyed up his car one night, but before I did, I went to a movie theater, bought a ticket, and went in and bought popcorn and a drink. I immediately left and went to his work.

His car was parked out back as usual. He suspected me and called the cops. I feigned ignorance. When they asked where I was, I checked my pocket for the ticket and receipt. Best $15 I ever spent.

31. A Cunning Plan

Back in the olden days (1993-1994 ish) I was dating this odd girl. I used to be a goober, wrote poetry and what have you. She saw my book of poems and told me she would copy me hers.

What she gave me was a book of poetry all right. The Barney song. I kid you not. With her name signed at the bottom of it. There was One Tin Soldier in there, as well as a few other choice plagiarisms.

I broke up with her shortly afterward, and she started stalking me shortly afterward. She was smooth! She should've worked for the CIA she was so good. I'd be walking home from work (about 10 blocks) and she'd follow me in her car.

I knew the sound of her car, having worked on it a little, and when I'd turn around, she'd turn down the next street or park on the side of the road. Once, she was so stealthy, she parallel parked...taking 3-4 attempts at the spot before finally making it.

She wouldn't take my calls, so I asked a few mutual friends to tell her to stop. I called her parent's phone and asked them to talk to her. Nothing worked. So...being the genius I was, I hatched a cunning plan.

The next time she parked, I turned around and walked back to her. She was looking away from me, so I knocked on her window.

She looked genuinely surprised to see me. 3 points for acting ability!

I invited her into my place, took her upstairs to my room, we did what couples would do, and as we both lay there catching our breath I told her that she could leave.

My exact words: "Ok. You can leave now."

Her: "What!?"

Me: "You can leave now. And please stop stalking me. You're not very good at it."

Her: "Stalking you? I was just parked...waiting...um...for my friend!"

Me: "Right. So, you're waiting for your friend and you take the time to have an hour's worth of things with your ex?"

Her: *getting out of bed now* "I'm just going to get my stuff"

Me: "Yes. And leave. I know."

Her: "You're not being very nice..."

Me: "That's kind of the idea..."

She let herself out, I laughed for a little bit, all proud of my evil plot. Then I had a nap. Never saw her in person again. She added me on social media about a year ago. The years were not kind.

32. The Pregnancy Scare

My first girlfriend was my first, and I was her first too. I stayed with her for 6 months longer than I should have in our 7-month relationship. She harmed herself in the bathroom, called me telling me she took an entire bottle of her bipolar pills, and when I tried to break up with her, she told me she was pregnant.

I was scared as hell. We rarely used protection, and a really good friend of mine who I recruited to look for evidence said he saw what was a legitimate hospital letter confirming her pregnancy.

I told my parents, as being 14, I had no idea what to do. They coached me, saying until I have proof for myself I needn't worry.

So I went into action. I took her bus home, sitting next to her with a certain cold reservation. When the bus came to a stop, I walked her up the street and bought her a pregnancy test. Went back to her house, yadda yadda yadda she wasn't pregnant. Left without saying anything and hugged her mom on the way out because she was awesome to me.

33. Supermarket Showdown

After finding out she cheated on me with my best friend and bandmate, I grabbed my other bandmates and drove to her place of work (a grocery store).

I confronted her while purchasing a pack of gum at the register with other customers in line with my bandmates standing behind me grinning.

Watched as she cried in front of co-workers and she was worried about what they would think of her, to which I responded, "They won't remember after tomorrow, you aren't that important to them." More tears resulted.

I wish it would have been leap day. Leap Day William would have run out of candy. Probably a jerk thing to do looking back on it, but it made me feel good at the time.

34. Unconditional Love in the Face of Loss

I have a couple of serious medical conditions, and I met a girl who went to another high school at the doctor's office. Not knowing anything about her disease, I started dating her. I found out a little later that she had a super severe form of lupus.

I didn't care. I was there for her unconditionally. I spent many nights in the hospital with her to the point where I got expelled due to my attendance (her high school was a good 50 miles from where I lived.)

And things got worse, and she started to feel worse. So I was there, every day and every night on her deathbed, cuddled up against her.

What does she do to me? Breaks up with me because she doesn't think I can handle the loss and exiles me from seeing her.

Note to everyone... ICU nurses do mean it when they say you AREN'T on the visitors' list. She passed away a month later. I still take flowers to her grave on the day of her birthday and the day of her death, and her mother loves me.

Took over 2 years to fall out of that deep deep depression and girls I've dated since have criticized me because I take flowers out to her grave.

35. Plotting behind my back

I got engaged while I was in college. As a point, when you are engaged, you develop a lot of stuff. A LOT of stuff. So much so that when you consider the rings, etc, you can see how easily it can hurt you when she breaks it off because she's been cheating on you.

In addition to this, her mother refused for us to live in an apartment together and made me give her $200 to go home for the summer (Her mom acted like a mother to me, because I didn't have one.)

Little did I know, her mother despised me all along and wasn't a fan of the marriage. Still talks about me behind my back to this day. 2 months ago I FINALLY purged all our stuff out of my apartment.

36. Escaping the Madness

Broke up with a psycho I'd been dating for 2 years when I was 17. (I always knew he was bad news, but I was in a bad place at the time and couldn't fully see things straight.) So I go to his place to "do the deed", and he just WILL NOT have it. He goes WILD.

I leave the house and proceed to get into my car. He follows me out and begins to smash his head into his mailbox (screaming who knows what). I get into my car. I start my car. I start to drive away. I look in my rear-view mirror and see him standing on his lawn... with a pair of scissors... around his neck.

No, he wasn't really trying to harm himself. How do I know this? I was convinced back into the relationship a few weeks later and ended up marrying the crazy man a year later. Like I said before, I was in a not-so-great place myself. It made sense at the time.

I finally woke the hell up and divorced him when I was 21. I'm 28 now, and I've never been better. And as crazy as everything was with him, I wouldn't change anything. I'm just glad I made it out alive.

37. Breaking Free

I was young and stupid (14) and started dating someone who was seventeen. She was emotionally abusive and extremely controlling. She intentionally failed high school because "she couldn't be without me".

A little more than a year into the relationship I couldn't take it anymore and broke up with her. She tried to change my mind for about two months and then dropped out of school.

Years later I sent her a message letting her know how royally messed up my life became because of how she treated me, she replied back that I must be misremembering because she didn't do any of the things I said she did.

A few years after that she was married and I have long moved on and am in a serious relationship and she messages me about how hard her life is, how she doesn't really like her husband, and if she asked me out on a date would I go "for old times sake".

I promptly said no, blocked her to high heavens, and changed the majority of my user names.

38. Unforgettable Encounters

I don't even think she can be considered my girlfriend because: It was 8 years ago when I was in sixth grade: and it wasn't even a day.

But anyway, it's the last month of my sixth-grade year and I don't really know anything about relationships, and the day it all happened was some ice cream movie day that my class had.

Well, there was this one girl I was friends with who swapped games with me and let me read her manga and she apparently liked me and somehow we ended up going out. Honestly, I don't remember how.

But later....about 20 minutes later at recess, she ended up yelling at me and scratching the hell out of me because I wouldn't kiss her. Then she goes to a teacher and gets me in trouble for some stuff I don't remember!

I ended up getting a recess taken away. Fast forward to that summer, my house started getting tons of calls from this girl. I never even gave her my number but she would call every day and leave a bunch of messages.

Apparently talking to my parents now they thought it was funny but damn she called me every day for the next year which didn't make sense to me! I was only in middle school.

Okay again fast forward to freshman year, my friend and I are walking to lunch and she pounces on me in the middle of the hallway and tries to kiss me saying weird creepy stuff about marriage and stuff.

I was scared as hell so I kneed her as hard as I could in the crotch and ran as fast as I have ever ran in my life. I never saw her since but according to her social media, she has become a transgendered adult entertainer.

39. Misunderstandings and Betrayal

I was 14 or 15 & had broken up with my first 'serious' boyfriend after he drank too much & threw up on himself, as well as all over my friend's yard. It may seem harsh, but I have very little tolerance for those who drink way beyond their limit while knowingly doing so.

Anyway, about two weeks later I was confronted in a rather serious manner by my cousin. She asked me if it was true that I was planning on using substances.

Being a young teenage girl who barely even dabbled into smoking, I was highly offended by this & lacked any resources capable of getting me "hard-core" street substances.

Turns out, the ex-boyfriend told as many people as he could that I was planning on becoming a substance user. I cleared this up with everyone I could, but ever since then the relationship between my cousin and I has completely derailed.

We were like the best of friends just weeks before that, and nowadays we rarely talk. That's not something I wanted to lose, or can easily get back.

40. From Relief to Regret

I broke up with my girlfriend because she was completely insane (shouting/screaming in the middle of the night for things like me snoring). Well, I packed up her things into her car and told her to get the hell out of my life.

When she finally left, I felt a huge relief that I hadn't made such a huge mistake so early on in life (I had only been out of University for a year, been working in a good job that whole year too, saving up a decent amount of money).

Anyway, about an hour or so later she turns up again. Looking really sorry. Well, we did the deed and she ended up staying. She's still here and we have 2 kids....my life has been something not too far away from hell ever since.

41. A Love Triangle

My husband(now ex): Before he dated me, he dated another local woman for 2 weeks. He dumped her after 2 weeks (bla bla bla) I'll get to the psycho stuff in a minute. So we started dating and got along great.

She can't stand it- she is calling him non-stop and bothering me and my co-workers at my job as well. We eventually had to put a restraining order on her as well as a no-trespass warrant against her because she kept showing up at my job (I worked at a bar).

But it got so bad that I eventually started recording her phone messages in which she was screaming at him that she knows he still loves her and that I was just a jerk… bla bla bla (they only dated for 2 weeks) then I took her to court to get a personal TRO against her.

The judge for some reason didn't grant it-his excuse was I was in no danger of being bodily harmed. Meanwhile--we are getting bombarded 24/7 with her BS phone calls all the time. I did a stupid thing and one night- she just would not stop.

So I went to her apt and threatened her-I mean really- the BS had been going on for 6 months..seriously. I went to jail for the night and spent the next 6 months fighting a home invasion charge since I yoked her out of her house.

BTW- it carried a 25-year sentence. I had a good lawyer and eventually got off with probation--we then moved out of state and were married for 10 years before we divorced.

42. The Revenge I Never Asked For

I finally got the courage to break up with my first long-term boyfriend. He had cheated on me multiple times, lied like crazy, and took advantage of me over and over.

I got tired of giving him "second chances".

When I finally told him it was over, he showed up at my house and proceeded to beg on his knees in my driveway, SOBBING like a small child.

Snot running down his nose, the works. I literally stood there laughing at him. It was amazing. (Trust me.. he deserved it after the things he put me through).

43. Hotdogs Can Break Hearts

Dating this girl and after dating for about three months she bought a George Foreman grill for my apartment. It was the best thing ever. My roommates and I cooked so many hot dogs and burgers on that thing it was unbelievable.

When we broke up she demanded I give it back, so I obliged and then the next day she threw the George Foreman through the windshield of my car successfully destroying my car and the George Foreman...no more hot dogs or driving.

44. A Disturbing Discovery

My brother's girlfriend broke up with him last summer. A couple of days ago I was looking at his computer and saw a strangely titled video file, "Why.avi"

It was a 5-minute long video.

I kid you not, it was composed of photos of racist stuff, flowers, beer, "gothic" art with skulls, and a lot of text saying stuff like, "Why did you leave???? I miss you!!!!! You are my everything, my reason for being!!"

I found it profoundly creepy. I will never tell anyone except you, my anonymous internet audience.

45. Unconventional Teenage Drama

So this friend of mine for years finally asked me out. I said yes, and before we even went on any dates, he texted me about his family going into the mountains for a week. He asks me to go and tells me we can stay in a 2nd cabin they have.

We're like 14 years old at this point and I honestly didn't think of him in a boyfriend light in the first place.

I broke it off, and after 3 or 4 more frantic/needy texts, he said he couldn't live without me (We hadn't even seen each other in person at this point since becoming bf/gf, and it had only been like 3 days since it was official that we were together, and he will hurt himself.

Then another that he is throwing up nonstop because he can't have this end. I stopped contact with him for years until recently on social media, and we have never directly or indirectly said anything to each other still.
