People Share Stories Of Catching Their Partners Cheating "On Act"

One of the worst challenges when it comes to relationships is realizing that your partner is cheating on you. But, catching them cheating on you red-handed is like a living nightmare that you have got to face. We tend to see these situations in dramas or movies but no, these things also happen in real life.

Catch these stories of people who caught their partner’s betrayal on them. You might learn a thing or two why sometimes, it was right to trust your instincts.

1. Betrayal Beneath The Blankets

A few years back, I lived with a buddy in a large apartment and we always had parties. I was flying back from Florida and wound up getting home when the party was "winding down.” It was almost over once I got there. Everyone was under blankets on the living room floor. I saw my "buddy" with what was a figure halfway down his sleeping bag doing SOMETHING to him.

He gave me a wide-eyed look and I cracked a smile at him until my girlfriend of two years' head popped out from the sleeping bag. I was in shock for a few seconds, and Tyler went to talk. I cut him off and said, "You can keep her.” I drove across town to my mom's that night, then cried like a fool too.

2. Heartbreaking Surprise

I had been with my girlfriend for seven years and we planned on getting married. I got a job in a city about two hours away from her, though, but she'd move down with me after a month because she wanted to finish up a big project at work, or so she said.

I planned on going up there to stay with her for a weekend and just romance her up completely in preparation for the next weekend when I was going to propose. On Thursday, I decided I'd just surprise her by going up there a day early because things were slow at work and I was too excited to see her. And so I left work, bought flowers dressed up, and got in the car, and was off.

Long story short, when I got there I found her hooking up with my best friend. They noticed me right away, and I freaked out and left. Two days later she called and asked me to talk things out, so I met her at a restaurant. I left the restaurant confused, regretting the past seven years, angry and single.

Resorted to drinking.

3. Bouncing Back From Betrayal

About four years ago, a mutual friend of ours (mine and my fiance) came to stay for a while because he fell on hard times out of state. I met him through her when we were teens but never knew the story behind them.

Well, I was working an awful job to support myself, my 1-year-old, and both of them at the time and worked close to 50 hours a week (had no car, and walked rain or shine 3 miles a day to work).

One night I got off early cause we were slow and headed home. I tried to call but no one answered. I walked in and right there on my brand new couch was her and our mooch of a "friend.” I got so enraged I just started kicking the heck out of him (he was a typical do-nothing shape loser).

My neighbor woke up and came over from hearing us and tackled me, it was 2 am, and he was trying to save me from ending him. After the cops came and cooler heads prevailed I found out that they dated before we met and they felt it was true love so they couldn't help themselves.

I got an assault charge and a night in jail. The next day they were gone, They moved to Oregon with his mom and left my daughter at my uncle's house. I haven't seen them since and my daughter who is 5 now enjoys her life with me and my now wife of 3 years who has been very faithful.

Last I heard they were living off the state and bouncing between housing, I am now gainfully employed and happy with life. The moral of the story is always to know who you are with.

4. Broken Engagement

I came home early from my 2nd job to spend time with her and our infant son. I noticed an extra pair of shoes in the entryway so I creeped in and up the stairs. I hit a creaky one and I hear them both jump up and she meets me at the door zipping up a sweater, her pants still unbuttoned.

He is still putting his pants on as I look into the room and start yelling. She pushed me to go downstairs so we could argue somewhere other than outside our sleeping son's room and once we were in the living room I started yelling harder than I ever had before.

I don't remember what I said, I kinda blanked it, but I'm sure I referenced how we were engaged and he was my best man and them trying to calm me down. I stormed out of the house and walked up the street to where his wife (her maid of honor) was working and calmly asked her to come outside to talk.

I told her what happened and left her to deal with him as she saw fit. I then called up a buddy of mine and told him to meet me at the bar so I could get drunk but not alone.

5. Shower Surprise

I went to a party with my girlfriend. She was doing her own thing with her friends and I was just drinking with mine having a good time. Later in the night I went looking for her and couldn't find her. Oh well, it was a bigger house.

I went into one of the bathrooms and saw her doing some nasty business with some random dude in the shower. My first reaction was to punch him but instead, I just laughed and walked out. She ran after me and tried to apologize. I just ignored her out the door and my sober buddy drove me home. We were her ride, but I don’t care at that point. I haven't said a word to her since, almost 2 years ago.

I was glad a lot of people agreed with my decision, as I think it was the best course of action. I didn't even know the guy and I'm positive he didn't know me. The look on his face was priceless and the sound of her saying "Oh no.” When I told my friends what I saw that's when I got driven home. I wonder if she went back to finish? Probably did, she was awful.

6. Heartbreak In The Hallway

I caught my boyfriend and my best friend being physically intimate in my living room.

They didn't see me and went to my boyfriend's and my room. I locked the door and packed all up his stuff. I cannot sleep. Then came 7 in the morning he finally decided it was a great idea to come to our room. He knocked on the door and I opened it.

I see him at the door and her in the living room at the end of the hallway. I said, "Your stuff is in the hallway, leave and bring that trash with you."

Yep, and that is how a 3-year relationship ended. I had caught him texting nasty things with other girls, and there were other things before and let those slide when I shouldn't have. This was the last straw I suppose.

7. Painful Awakening

I got married far too young and for all the wrong reasons. We immediately went into a troubled marriage phase.

I was working long hours to make up for the loss of what little income she was making when she quit her job to play online games all day. What little time we spent together we spent fighting or ignoring each other.

A couple of months later, things are. better. Not good, but better. I decide to knock off work early to take her out on a "date.” I open the door and hear the unmistakable sound of my wife being intimate with another man.

I walk into the bedroom and see some dude sleeping with my wife and going at it good, so I just lean on the door and watch for a minute. Then finally I clear my throat and panic ensues. He grabs his clothes off the floor BOLTS out the window and runs bare added to the car parked in my neighbor's driveway. My now ex-wife starts crying and begging and pleasing. I just say "I'm going to my best friend's house for a few days, be gone when I get back"

She decided she didn't want to have an amicable, uncontested divorce. What she doesn't know is the dude whom she slept with called me like two weeks later, wanting to meet and talk. He told me she had been flirting with a bunch of dudes in chat rooms, and was pretending she was single, which is why he was there. I asked him if he'd testify to that under oath, and he said he would.

When she saw him in court, her face went white and she immediately started talking to her lawyer. After the guy testified, the judge gave her a "You're horrible" look and awarded me an annulment. I haven't spoken to her since.

8. Betrayal To Triumph

In college, I was wearing a suit and on my way to a job interview on campus. Before going to it, I walked by my girlfriend's house and used my key to let myself in. I had had a drink with her the night before at a bar with her friends and knew something bad was going to happen, I could just feel it.

I let myself in, walked upstairs, and found her sleeping naked in bed with a guy from the bar. I started hitting him in the face, he woke up and we tussled for a second then I demanded he get out. He got his things together and left. She followed me down the street back to my house in her pajamas crying, and I just locked her out. Then I walked straight to my interview and crushed it. I was still working here 2 years later.

9. Unseen Betrayal

I walked into my house after forgetting my glasses in the morning, it happens, I never wear them enough. Anyway, I walk in and head to the bedroom, showers running and I figure my wife got in after I left.

Then I hear a man laughing, and she laughs with him. So I kind of freaked out, but calmly. I sat down. Just sort of sat there, I didn't know what else to do.

After a couple of minutes, the shower turns off, they come tumbling out of the bathroom and there I am. He starts stuttering, she starts making excuses as if I hadn't caught her. I just mumble, "I forgot my glasses."

I don't remember what I was thinking, I reached for a pair of scissors on the nightstand and I'm pretty sure I at least thought about ending them both, then Tom Cruise bursts into the room and arrests me for pre-crime.

I didn't even do anything.

10. Birthday Betrayal

So it was her birthday tonight and she was having a get-together with a couple of friends. When I get there she is messing around with this guy like nothing. Just freaking touching, holding, and kissing each other like they are a couple. I can tell she is drunk out of her mind, but that is and never will be a valid excuse for cheating.

We had only been dating for a couple of weeks, but heck does it still sting. I had even gotten her a cool little necklace she had seen at a store we used to go to. I just left I don't even know if she saw me or not, but I couldn’t give a care. A person like that is not worth wasting my energy on getting mad or my time on. So yeah I have not had a good night.

11. Darkness To Redemption

My boyfriend was addicted to an illegal substance, like disappearing all weekend, blowing his entire paycheck/tax refunds, and showing up at my house on Monday with flowers, high.

We were fairly young and had been dating for about three months. His house was party central, so my sister, friend, and I were there drinking one day with him and his friends. He goes outside to smoke a cigarette (which he only did when drinking) and my friend goes out there too.

I remember having this awful, gut-wrenching feeling a couple of minutes later, I just knew. Then he walks back in. An hour later my sister told me that my friend and he kissed (hurt worse than if he would've just slept with her), and all I kept saying was "I know, I knew it." I punched him in the face and left.

Seven years later. He's been clean for about five years. He just quit one day after Christmas, and said he was tired. He's a completely changed man, so it always pisses me off when people say "Once a cheater, always a cheater" because that's messed up. I went through 2 years of horrible things with him, but I completely trust him now. We're engaged and expecting our first child.

12. Late Night Discovery

I have seen my mom doing nasty business with the neighbor. My dad threatened him. The next week he sold his house and moved cities. My parents are still together but don't sleep in the same bed.

He was over for a heavy night of drinking. About 2 am I went to get a drink. I noticed the door was open still so I turned on the light outside to see if anyone was out there so I didn't lock anyone out.

As soon as I do I see my mom on her knees and she quickly gets up and zips up. I said, "What the heck are you doing?" They both said nothing and my mom went inside and he just sat there. I asked him, "Why did you zip up your pants, what the heck were you doing?" He sat in silence, and I told him to get his kid and get the heck out before my dad got up.

I went downstairs for a second and when I came back he was gone and I had never seen him again.

13. Sweet Revenge At Sweet 16

I was 16 years old and had been with my boyfriend for 6 months. He was my world. I was typically 16, madly in love and of course, I thought we would be high school sweethearts forever and ever. He was 17 about to turn 18.

So we go to a girl's 16th birthday party and we're all having a good time. I've never been a drinker, so I'm hanging out looking after my drunk girlfriends. I can't find my dude, so I go with my best friend looking for him.

I opened the door of the bedroom of the girl whose party it was, to find them sleeping together. Of course. They didn't notice us. I walked into another room with my best friend and discussed this issue.

I decided to go for the metaphorical jugular. I went and found her dad. He burst into the door, saw exactly what I did, and lost his temper. My then ex-boyfriend got hit to the head and was thrown out in his underwear.

The party was over after that, everyone had to leave, she wasn't allowed to see him anymore and wasn't allowed to go to parties for months afterward. I dumped him the next day (he'd taken off after being thrown out) and of course, he blamed me for the trouble he was in because I told her dad, who got hold of his conservative Christian mother, who grounded him too.

I was on cloud nine knowing I'd caused the both of them so much misery.

14. Twice With Betrayal

I found my ex-boyfriend in the same bed as my ex-best friend. I was supposed to be at work, but they said they needed to cut hours and let me go home early. I’ve been wanting to surprise my boyfriend so I stopped at his house with some tacos and beer. I noticed my best friend's car in the parking lot, but I didn't think much of it because they were friends and we all hung out from time to time.

He had given me a key to his house a week earlier, with the instructions to just "Stop by and let myself in." So that's exactly what I did. I found them on his bed in the living room, naked, sweaty, and just finished intimate times.

I freaked and yelled. He says they had gotten drunk the night before and rather than drive home, she crashed there. It would have been cool if it weren't for the fact both were naked I looked at her and told her we had been friends since 7th grade, and that I deserved the truth. She said they slept together and had been sleeping for several months at that point.

I threw the tacos and beer at my ex-boyfriend, grabbed a garbage bag, and packed up whatever crap I had left at his house before. I hadn't spoken to him since then.

I decided to forgive my friend. We had been best friends for far too long, but then I found out she was sleeping with my next boyfriend, and I cut her off my life. She still tries to talk to me occasionally, but I tell her to shut off every time.

15. A Swift Exit And A New Towel

I got into a fight with my at-the-time girlfriend on my way to work. We had a mutual "friend" sleeping on the couch. Came back about an hour later (work was 3 minutes away. With traffic) and found my ex in a teddy. Not the sweatpants and tanktop I had left her in.

I noticed some clothes on my side of the bed. I asked if I was interrupting something. She told me I should leave. The toilet flushed. The bathroom door opened, and I turned to see who was brave enough to plant their clothes on my side of the bed.

Lo and behold the douche on the couch was giving me the deer in the headlight "oh no I'm in his towel" look. She began to panic and told me to leave as he tucked her tail back into the bathroom and locked the door.

The apparent sound of the boiling of my blood kept him from opening the bathroom door and her from opening the bedroom door. I take a deep breath and shout out "This awful woman better only have my things in it when I get back. But take the towel."

I went back to work, turned off my phone, bought a new towel and bed set, burned the old sheets, and lived happily ever after with my new towel.

16. Shattered Glass, Broken Trust

It was Christmas day in 2004. I left work early and came home to grunts and moans coming from the bedroom. I had suspected him of cheating, so I wasn't surprised.

I quietly picked up our glass coffee table and even more quietly carried it to the bedroom. I walked in to find him with another man. The other guy saw me first and as he cried out in surprise, I threw the glass table onto both of them. There was no time for excuses. Just screaming and blood.

I dragged the other dude by the ankle and threw him down the back stairs. I then throw his clothes out the front door. By then, my partner was crying and apologizing. So I took the bloody frame from the table and hit him with it. By now. I'm starting to realize the gravity of what I'd done. I get in my car and leave, leaving them both injured.

I was fully expecting to be arrested, so I headed to the corner bar and proceeded to get drunk. I closed down the bar and took a cab home. I got home to my partner asleep on the couch. I awoke the next day to a letter of apology. He'd taken his clothes and dog and gone to his grandmother's. Still, he offered no excuses, only apologies. Last I heard they were still living together, but that was in 2010.

17. The Wake Up Call

I was working one night while my roommate was throwing a party. A buddy picked me up after my shift and told me we needed to talk, took me to the pool hall, pulled off buying us a couple of beers even though we were underage, and told me my girlfriend was cheating on me at the party in my bed.

When I get there, the party is over, everyone is gone, and she's drunk in my bed. I woke her up and tell her I already know what happened, and she was freaking out. I told her to calm down, that I'm not going to blow up on her, but we need to talk.

We ended up having an hour-long conversation about her drinking, her life choices, and her promiscuity before we were a couple. She says that this is rock bottom for her, and she's ready to sober up and lead a grown-up life.

I commended her for the first honest assessment of herself I've ever heard her speak and told her I couldn't wait to see her get back to being the kickass girl she was when we were in high school together. And then she leans in for a kiss. I backed up, and right into her open mouth and said, "Whoa, that doesn't mean we're not over after this though."

She freaked, and I told her to sleep it off on the couch because I didn't want her driving home like this, give her keys to my roommate, and take off for the night. It's 12 later. I'm now married to the girl of my dreams with two kids and a big house with a pool, so despite my heartbreak, it all worked out for me. I hear she's got several kids herself, but is doing alright with husband number two.

I still felt great when last year, a mutual friend told me that she still talks about that night being her wake-up call and that losing me was the worst mistake she ever made.

18. Midnight Tea Betrayal

One day my bf and I got into a bad fight over the phone and I felt bad afterwards. So, I stopped by a fast food restaurant at around midnight and decided to surprise him with an iced tea that he loves so much.

I got to his place, but he wasn't there and noticed his blonde and black Frohawk in the backseat of a parked car in the dimly lit section of the apartment complex's lot. I got closer to the vehicle and lo and behold some Asian chick who he claimed was "only a friend" was doing something on his thing as if it were the last popsicle on a hot day.

I just stood there in shock before bursting into tears. When he finally noticed me there he immediately pulled up his pants, got out of the car, and started apologizing. He claimed he was high and that I made him upset so he had no choice but to do this.

I ended up just getting back in my car and leaving. I didn't make a scene or attack that girl (even though looking back, I wish I had because I'm a beta. When I got home I cried for hours while sipping his tea.

19. A Stony Tale

I was dating a guy for almost a year and just found out I was pregnant. We had planned to have lunch together at his house but morning sickness had kicked in so I told him I would have to wait till dinner time. He sounded super disappointed so an hour later I felt well enough to surprise him with a sub for lunch.

When I got to his house I found the door wide open so I walked in. As I opened his bedroom door I found him in bed with two girls. Pissed off I tossed the sub at him, called him some choice words, and I ran out the door. He followed me and tried to get me to calm down. I told him I was done and wanted to leave but he begged me to hear him out claiming he had a good reason for what he was doing.

He then told me the biggest crock of poo I have ever heard in my life. He told me that he dated this girl before me for a short time. Being a Middle Eastern girl she was very set on the no intimacy rule before marriage for fear of what her family would do to her. However, one night they ended up sleeping together anyway and he broke her cherry.

Pan forward to the present, she called him in a panic saying her life was in danger. She told him she was going on a trip overseas soon to see family and for fear of being stoned, she begged him to meet her parents and claim they had married secretly to save her. His next words were the craziest part of my story. "So if I don't keep sleeping with her, they will stone her till she is ended. The other girl was just her sister making sure it was legit. Do you get it now? I am saving this woman's life!"

I just turned around and walked away. Almost 8 years later I still can't tell this story without giving him some props for creativity. It kills me to do so but even I could not have told that line of crap as straight-faced as he did.

20. Broken Promises To Broken Home

This happened to my sister-in-law.

My brother-in-law (my wife's brother) lost his job just after they had a kid.  He says it's because of layoffs, I think he just messed up, but whatever.  For the next year, he looks for a job but can't find anything.

So he decided to go back to school. Queue second kid. She's working full-time and taking care of the kids because he's "not good at it." She cuts maternity leave short because they're broke.

In 3 years, they amass 80k in debt because of his schooling, but he promises they'll pay it all back afterward. He's in a nursing program, so he's probably right.

2 months after he graduates, he is "caught" cheating with a girl he's been seeing for the last 6 months. So, they split up just as he gets a job making 120k per year.  He sticks her with half the debt from when he went to school.

As if this needed a cherry on top, he threatens to sue her for half custody of the kids because "He can't afford to pay full child support."

21. Infidelity At Dawn

My girlfriend and I had been together for a year.

I woke up hungover the day after my birthday because her cat was kneading on my face. She wasn't in bed which was confusing since it was 7 am. I started wandering around looking for her and went out to the living room to check on my buddy (one of my best friends at the time). She was doing nasty with this thing.

I saw red, screamed a lot, cussed a lot, and cried a lot. I ended up punching a hole in her wall and splitting my knuckles open. I tried to fight my friend but he was a giant sissy and wouldn't stand up and at the beginning pretended to sleep. Dude I just saw her throttling your thing I know you're awake. I packed my stuff in a garbage bag and bounced the heck outta there.

It's been 3 years now and I am in an amazing relationship with someone I trust completely which was hard at first but she stuck with me. I still get misty-eyed when I think about it.

Her excuse was that "it felt right" She had just been to this weird mind-washing seminar called "landmark forum" that taught her to be selfish if she wanted to succeed. He didn't have an excuse cause he's a giant floppy synthetic sissy.

22. Aftermath Of Leash Of Emotions

I went to my girlfriend's house at around 2:30 am after a night out with my friends. Strangely, her front door was open. I have a spare key. The house is dark, I call out her name, worried maybe there were burglars or something. I go up to the bedroom to see some guy scrambling to put his pants on, and my girlfriend naked in the bed.

I snapped. I charged at the guy and hit him in the face several times. My girlfriend was screaming. After he was down on the ground, I got up and left. The next day police came to my work. I guess the guy called the police and reported the incident.

My girlfriend must have told them where I worked. I explained the incident to the police officer, apologizing and saying I didn't know what came over me. The officer said, "I would have done the same thing." After he wrote his report he shook my hand and wished me luck.

Nothing else happened. No ticket, nothing. Oh, and I broke up with her.

23. Christmas Card Humour

I was going out with girlfriends after work. I got off early and ran home to change. I thought it was odd my husband was asleep so early. I crept into the bedroom with the light off to change.

I sat on the bed and he started saying I needed to go wait in the living room. I was not catching on at all. He had to explain he had someone in the bed with him. I left, got very drunk, and then terribly sad. I went home the second night because we'd been together since I was 15 and I was confused.

I walk in on day two and hear the bed springs squeaking. The first night I was calm and kind of laughed about how ridiculous it was. On day two, not so much. That chick stayed in my bed for three hours while my husband and I argued and I broke everything I could get my hands on.

I sent her a Christmas card at her parent's house for several years that said, "Ho, ho, ho." Now I know she did me a favor. Any woman who can take my man can have him.”

24. Caught Via SMS

About 4 years back, I had my then-girlfriend over for the night. usually came over the night before we got to the university. She lived about 45 45-minute drive from it, I lived about a 5-minute drive.

Anyway, she went for a shower, and her phone went off with an SMS. I knew she was expecting an SMS from her friend, shouted through the door saying she got one. She asked me to read it out to her.

It was the guy she was doing behind my back, saying how good the Friday night was, wishing he could sleep with her again. I read it out, heard the shower stop, she came out crying and apologizing.

I told her to get dressed, threw her stuff in my car, and then drove her to her parents. Her mother asked what was going on, and I explained it to her. She told me I was more welcome in her house than her daughter.

I just left, got a liter of Jacks, and smashed it that night. Took a bottle of rum to university the next day, drinking it in my chem lecture. It’s been about 4 years since then, and find it hard to trust someone like that again. Seems small compared to others, but that's my story.

25. The Fallout That Followed

I was in my freshman year of college. I came home from visiting my family a day early. I walked into my dorm room to find my girlfriend topless making out with my roommate/good friend with his thing in her hand.

The worst part about it was that he had always told me how much of a flirt she was and that I should break up with her. Anyway, I immediately ran up, pulled him out of the bed, slammed him to the ground, and started dropping heavy blows to the face while my girlfriend screamed at me to stop.

I stopped walked out the door and went to my other friend's room to chill for a while. I ended up dumping my girlfriend and my friend/roommate apologized profusely saying he deserved to get kicked. I kind of forgave him but it was still a very awkward rest of the year sharing a room with him.

26. Revelation From A Party

I was finally dating the girl I had wanted to date for about 3 years. She told me one night she was going to a party and I didn't think anything of it because she always said that she would never cheat. Well anyway I got to hang out with some of my friends and they suggested we go to a party outside of town, I agreed and on the way there one of my buddies told me who was there. He glossed over my girlfriend's name and I was like oh sweet I’ll get to see her tonight after all.

Well, he told me that she was there with some other guy and when I got there she saw my best friends before she saw me and started freaking out asking if I was with them. I walk inside and sure enough, she's there with some guy and enjoying herself out. I just said heck it and blew it off. By the time I got back into cell service that night, I had a few texts from her saying that I should have seen it coming. It still confuses me as to how she showed no remorse for doing exactly what she hated.

27. Halloween Horror

We went to a Halloween party at a friend's place, I had known she had a bit of a crush on one of the guys who attended the party At one point late in the night she was quite drunk, she lined up at the washroom immediately after he went in and stood there for quite a bit of time.

I kept a bit of an eye on her because I knew how drunk she already was, when the bathroom door opened, she went in but he didn't come out. That’s where I knew something nasty was already going on. I stood at the door and waited. When it opened and he stumbled out, I immediately went in and confronted her about it. I'm proud of myself for not committing murder that night.

We're going through divorce now, 10 years married with 2 kids.

28. Eye-Opening End

He was my first proper boyfriend, and in hindsight, he was a pretty horrible boyfriend. But at the time I thought the sun shone out of his awful attitude. So I was crushed when out of the blue he dumped me, with no reason. A week later a group of his friends who'd taken a liking to me contacted me with the real reason for our break up because they'd seen what was happening and they were sick of his crap.

He'd been seeing another girl behind my back, and when she found out about me she refused to sleep with him. So he dumped me in the hopes he'd get into her pants. She inevitably told him to get lost, at which point he tried getting back with me. I did not take him back.

29. Unveiling Infidelity

My girlfriend was out with a friend, and we'll call her Susan. They were both in a “girls' night” until all hours, and told me she was staying at Susan's place for the night. The next time I saw Susan, she pulled me aside and told me that they went to the house of a guy my girlfriend worked with, we'll call him Patrick because that's his name.

Susan goes on to tell me that she woke up in the middle of the night and found my girlfriend being intimate with Patrick on the couch while Patrick's girlfriend was asleep in the bedroom. I thanked her for letting me know, then went home and told my girlfriend to pack her things.

30. Betrayed Overseas

I was deployed to Iraq and my wife was being distant for a few weeks. During my deployment, she mentioned several times in phone calls this contractor she was working with and how much they clicked and all. I trusted her and never thought she was cheating, but I joked about it and we laughed it off. I even met the guy while home on leave and he shook my hand thanking me for my service.

A month later back in Iraq from leave one particular night I couldn't get a hold of her. I called and called and no answer. I am very much a trust my gut type of guy and I had a sinking sickly feeling that something was up.

I never was one to check or sneak into her accounts, but we shared passwords. I decided to check her social media account. There was nothing in her inbox, but there was one lonely message in her outbox she didn't delete to the contractor guy she worked with, "I will always love you.” That was when my world came crashing down.

Shortly afterward, she finally calls me back, not knowing I know, and she confesses she is pregnant with his baby. I couldn't get a hold of her because she was with her mom confessing what she had done. That night, I remember punching a wall and straining or breaking my thumb and leaving my barracks knocking over a porta potty. Thankfully nobody was in it.

There was a month or two before I was to be home and we tried working it out being distant. Once I got home I decided to give it another chance, she told me she would stop talking to him and request him to be removed from her project. I met her at her office one day for lunch and she wasn't in her office yet. While waiting for her I saw she had her email pulled up but not her usual email. Turns out she had a secret email account with him. After that, I was done and out.

31. Layers Of Cheating

The one thing some people don't know is that there can be layers to unravel when your partner is cheating. My doubts started when I took my partner’s phone by accident, unlocked it, and BAM! Pretty inappropriate texts. I confronted her about it and she tried to talk her way out of it. But they were just texts, so I told her to just stop doing it and everything would be fine.

Unfortunately, I found out a pretty annoying way. I was chilling at home and I got a message from a really good friend if I wanted to go Laser Tag. We are in college, it's what boring college kids do I declined, and just went about my evening.

The next day I was talking to that exact friend and he let me know that my partner and this other guy that everyone also knew, the guy she was ending the texts to, were being a little bit too close. I confronted her and BINGO she was cheating on me. Ended soon after that.

I am 99% sure she will see this, but she still talks to some friends of mine from time to time, and hearing about how much awful she is going through, and how miserable she is just makes me feel so much better. Her getting out of my life was the best thing to happen to me. The intimacy was not good either.

32. Reverse Of A Surprise

A surprise visit from out of town, she's not home. Well, it was a surprise and I wasn't sure of her plans for the evening, so I went to my mom's house to wait awhile. A few hours later I go back to my girlfriend's apartment, but she's still not there.

On a hunch I drive by her male friend's place and sure enough, her car is there. I get an uncomfortable feeling about it but try not to worry. So I went back to my mom's place to get some sleep. Up early, I go over to my girlfriend’s house again. She is still not there. I drove around the block, she was still at the dude’s place. I never liked that POS.

At this point I'm pissed. I go back to my mom's and call my girlfriend's home phone. The message was something like "I came into town last night and we need to talk." A few hours later she rings the doorbell and we go upstairs to talk. She confessed that she cheated.

I was in love with this woman, so I accepted her apology and gave her another chance. We stayed together for a few months, but I came to realize I couldn't forgive her so easily. Especially since she was still hanging around that guy. So we broke up, the end.

33. Digital Discovery

I had been dating a guy for a few months. We didn't have a title on it, but a couple of months before the incident we had decided that we had no interest in seeing others and were exclusive. He decided he wanted to buy an iPad. A few days later, I asked if I could see it to see what apps he had and if there were any I might like to put on my own.

I noticed an app called that has around five or six notifications on it. I honestly had no idea what it was, so I opened it. It went straight to his inbox, which was full of messages from other women. Just as I saw that, he asked if I was ready to go to the grocery store, so I left it there.

He could tell something was up at the grocery store, but I didn't bring it up in public. We got back to his place, and I opened up the app again. I said, "What's this app on here? I've never heard of that before." He said, "Oh, it's just a social networking site. It's really big with my friends from up in Oregon."

So I open a message, that says something like, "Hey girl, when are you gonna come see me so I can play with your jewels?" or something along those lines. I said, "Oh so this blonde girl Shelly is gonna fly in from Oregon so you can play with her jewels How sweet of her!" Then we get into a huge fight, with him mostly claiming that I'm not his girlfriend so he can still do things with other girls, seemingly forgetting about the exclusivity talk.

It ends with him confessing that he did it because he's in love with me and those strong feelings scared him so he turned to other women, but he had never actually met up with any of them. He also cried so that was cool. I gave him another chance, but we crashed and burned not too long afterward cause I couldn't trust him anymore.

34. Shadows Of Academia

My ex just started grad school after being out of undergrad for about two years. We had been going out for nearly a year. She would introduce me to a lot of her classmates and stuff and we'd start to hang out with some of them.

The people she had made the best friends with were guys, which I didn't have too much of a problem with. Most of them seemed cool. One of the guys she was probably the closest with and she started talking about this guy all the time. He had just gotten married a couple of months prior I guess. I met him a couple of times, and he seemed just seemed a hint of douchey, but whatever.

A couple weeks go by and she's just starting to act different. It's our anniversary weekend and I have dinner plans for us, get a nice card, all that kind of stuff. She has to cancel on me last minute because she has to "study." That weekend I stayed at her apartment because I needed to do something downtown the next day and I was not living around there.

She had to go to her parent's house for some reason. She left her laptop and I took it to go on email. Her email was logged in and I know I really shouldn't have done it, but I started to poke around just a little. I felt terrible while doing it, but I could feel some distance between us and she wouldn't talk to me about whatever it was.

She had deleted the majority of her chat conversations but must have overlooked one of them. It was quite an obscene convo with that married guy about what they had done that weekend and many other times before that. So I took the card I had gotten her, wrote "CRAP YOU" over all the words telling her how I loved her, set it on her computer with that conversation still open, and left.

35. Past After Break-Up

My first boyfriend cheated on me with his ex at least twice, but I didn't find out until years after we broke up. He and I got together for drinks and to catch up, and I just flat-out asked him if he'd slept with her. He couldn't answer me, and that was the answer enough.

Looking back, I knew in the back of my mind something was up, and I should have accepted that and moved on sooner. The paintings she did of him, the way he'd disappear for days after seeing her, hell, he drove to my school in her car to tell me we should "take a break." Ugh. It makes me angry to think about how naive I was. I was trying to be the "cool girlfriend" who didn't mind her boyfriend hanging out with his ex because they were "just friends."

36. Accidental Revelation

I didn't cheat myself, but busted a guy accidentally. I was at a dinner party when this vaguely familiar guy walked in with his smoking hot partner.

We were introduced and I said that we had met before. It went like this: " Yes, we've met before." He responded, "No, I don't think so." But I insisted, “Sure, you went to X University, right?" He then replied "Yeah." I then added, "You used to date my old neighbor, Jenna" But he had that look like he was in danger, "No, no. That wasn't me" But I still insisted,  "Sure it was. You transferred from Y University and played basketball. We had a couple of chats because you know Tim and Ed."

At this point his SO is seething and storms out of the house. He gave me a “Wow did you just mess me up” look and headed out after her. Turned out he had been cheating with my neighbor for years. She always suspected but never had any proof, until I came along.

37. Seeking Closure

My ex-boyfriend and I had been dating for 2 years when he cheated on me. It was his birthday and we were supposed to be going out for dinner that night. I decided to surprise him with his birthday present earlier that day.

I went over to his house since he was off from work, and saw that he had left the door unlocked. So, I went in and called out for him but he didn't answer. His TV volume was turned up loud. I went up to his room just to catch him pile-driving my cheer captain. There was no confrontation, I left quietly. However, I did come back to stick nails in his tires out of spite.

He begged me to forgive him but I declined. I won't lie I was tempted but it hurt. To give him everything and I mean everything (he was my first, lucky me). I don’t expect him to turn around and betray me like that hurt. I will say that holding grudges did me no good. I was able to forgive him just for closure purposes.

38. Deception Unveiled

My wife had been acting distant for a few weeks and suddenly started meeting a female friend of hers a night a week or so. I was suspicious, especially when the friend called looking for her on a night they were supposed to be together.

A few nights later, I found some pictures and text messages on her phone. We argued and I ended up going to my buddy's house at 3 in the morning, God bless him. The next day we argued some more and of course it was my fault, after all, I didn't pay her enough attention.

We went to counseling and I stayed because of our kids, but I've never forgiven her and honestly, I wonder if staying was a mistake.

39. Betrayal On Base

In September of last year, I got a new house on base. My wife and I moved in and everything was going peachy.

One of my best friends fell into some hard times and didn't have a place to go, so I said he could live with me. Who doesn't wanna live with their best friend? And my wife was cool with it too.

About a month later, I came home from work early, and some suspicious stuff was happening. But it could mostly be explained by just an unlucky coincidence. It just didn't sit right with me though, and I amicably kicked my buddy out of the house.

The next week, I had to drive about an hour away for work, and my wife needed to use the car too. So, we were just gonna see if the guy would let us use his car. He was fine with it.

Since I still wasn't truly comfortable with him over, I set up cameras. Every device in my house with a camera, became a motion detector.

I returned home from work, changed, ran some errands, and got back to the house at about 1900. Sat down, faced my laptop away, and started looking through the pictures. I saw pictures of them fooling around on my couch.

I turned the screen to my wife and calmly said, "Get the heck out of my house." I called my command to tell them what happened. As of a couple of weeks ago, he just got out of the brig, she's back in her hometown, and I'm waiting for the divorce to finalize.

40. Toxic Marriage

My ex-husband who was rarely ever mean or got angry with me was suddenly yelling at me all the time and finding fault in every little thing. Essentially, he was gaslighting me, trying to push every button and make me snap. I told my mom about it and she said, "Honey, I think he is cheating, find out for sure."

About a week later, he was being a jerk, and when he went to take out the trash, I decided his jerkiness was justification to snoop on his computer and I immediately saw where he was messaging some lady about "putting the final nails in the coffin of our relationship." I feel really bad about the snooping, Other than it confirmed the awful suspicions, I got a chance to snoop more in-depth a few days later (needed 100% confirmation).

I found out he had one-way plane tickets to the fugly troll's city, and he wasn't going to tell me he was leaving until he was gone. I found out he told all our mutual friends that I was abusive and he had to leave to protect himself. I want to barf every time I think about how many of them bought into his story, and even more so, how much I had bought into it.

Meanwhile, my reality was that when I found out he had been having an online relationship less than 6 months into the marriage, I went to the library to research how to deal with his infidelity. I found a therapist to help me cope with it and sat on the information that he was cheating until I could confront him with a third party present. And second chances? No chance. He changed his flight to leave the night of the confrontation.

Now, here's how you lose a coward, ladies, and start to get your self-confidence back.

41. Love, Lies, And Breakfast Burritos

The marriage was rocky once he met a girl in his summer session course and was studying with her while I was gone at work. Sometimes she'd come early in the morning (like 6 am) and then be gone when I got home at 9 p.m. He would make her breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the groceries I was buying for us with my hard-earned money.

I put my foot down and said he had to limit his time with her, and that my needs weren't being met. He was withholding being intimate for weeks at a time, citing that he was too tired or stressed. He said I was overreacting, that nothing was happening between them and that I was just trying to sabotage his career goals.

I read his chats with her, and he was pouring his heart out about our troubles, but there was no evidence of cheating. I sent him to sleep on the futon the day I came home from work to have lunch and found them boxing in the backyard shirtless.

In the following months, I tolerated all of his crap, but what got me was when I happened upon a pros and cons list comparing me to his ex, his study buddy, and some other girl I hadn't heard of yet. I also found love letter drafts to 2 girls thrown in the trash, not even hidden.

Needless to say, I ended it right quickly and kicked him out. I was pretty merciful and let him live in the garage for 3 weeks, but he didn't deserve it. Last I heard, he was dating the third girl on the list and living with his study buddy. What a trash.

42. Relationship Reset

My partner and I had hit rock bottom in our relationship. We had gone through a hectic move during an already tumultuous year. I felt myself drifting apart from him, although he tried quite a few times to reignite our spark (proposed, among other things). I just had a lot going on in my life, mostly career stress, that I was afraid to confide in him and I kept inside.

In addition, he had started letting himself go a bit. He didn't gain any weight but he outgrew his "look" (we had been together since my late teens/his very early twenties) in a way that I found unattractive. I didn't tell him this but I definitely didn't pursue him physically and he got, understandably, depressed. I had fallen out of love but I didn't want to let him go.

Fast forward a few months and he left town for a business trip and ended up cheating on me with a coworker who had just put in her two weeks and, and I'm reading between the lines of his story a bit here, was likewise in a bad place in her personal life. He said that in his drunken haze (he had been drinking a lot). She looked and acted to him like me, back when “I needed him.”

He wasn't able to finish the deed and told me immediately when he got home. He deleted her contact info from his phone (he leaves everything out in the open so yes I'm sure) and we took it as an opportunity to reset. We both still loved each other even though I had lost that “in love” feeling. He "proposed" and got a tattoo to remember the whole incident, his choice. Our romantic life has been back on track ever since.

No, it hasn't happened again. Sometimes good people hit a breaking point, and sometimes good people mess up.

43. Honeymoon To Heartbreak

I caught my ex 1 month after we got married. I had the day off of work and my computer was doing an update, so I woke his screen up to check the weather forecast. His browser was open to an email account I didn't know existed and there was a message from "Sara" with details of what she loved about the last time they were together and how she couldn't wait to see him in a few days.

I didn't call him right away. My curiosity got the best of me and I went through the folders in the email account. I found registrations for all dating sites. I went into a slight state of shock and called him.

He came home immediately and told me he needed help and that he would never do it again. I asked myself if I thought anyone would believe me. I reminded myself his business depended on his reputation.

So we went to counseling. He kept cheating. A year and a half later, after finding photographic evidence of recent activity, I walked and began the really ugly divorce process.

December 2013 was my fifth divorce anniversary. In October 2014 I'll finish paying it off.

44. What Goes Around, Comes Around

I met her on a chance encounter while working for a music festival in the summer of 2011. We were both twenty and were both seeing the end of our first romantic relationships. We were trying to cope with the heartache.

She had trouble letting go of her old boyfriend and never actually broke up with him. I understood though, he was her first. But I did not understand enough. I made mistakes. I seduced her.

As summer faded into fall we were dating and though I had been warned, "If she'll do it for ya, she'll do it to ya," I was enamored with her beauty and would not heed to wisdom. It didn't take long, maybe three months? But I got what was coming to me.

One night she called to ask about my plans for the evening and I let her know, "Sorry miss. I'm going to be in the library tonight but you shouldn't let that stop you from going out. It's Friday." The term was coming to a close and essays needed attention but that was no reason for her to not have a good Friday night.

I encouraged her to go out with her friends, and off she went. The next day she told me. She had gone to a party with her friends and something about drama majors, they were too touchy with one another. One thing led to another, she fooled around with one of her male peers and told me the next day.

I don't regret dumping her immediately. I only regret being the piece of trash that helped her to cheat first. It's funny though, that she had never shown anger towards me until that day. After all, how could I not understand? Actresses and actors are just like that.

45. The Texting Tales

I was in a long-term relationship with a guy and everything was going perfectly. Then I found out I was pregnant and he was a different person. He treated me like the dirt on his shoes. Thinking it would all correct itself once he met the baby, I decided to stay.

He started becoming distant and was unable to come off his phone for more than a minute. After saying he was going out to 3 work parties in one week (no special holiday or event at the time), I stopped believing and trusting him.

One night, while he was asleep I took his phone and read his texts (I wouldn't usually do this but I was losing hope). He was stringing along 4 other girls and was actually in a relationship with 2 of them.

When I confronted him about it he claimed he wasn't a cheater and had never cheated emotionally or physically (even though I told him that I had seen the messages). Needless to say, our relationship ended very quickly and he continues to cheat on his new partners. I have no reason to believe he ever cheated on me before I got pregnant but I suppose I will never know the true answer to that.
