Since Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats have taken over the House of Representatives they’ve passed a number of bills. Many of these bills, however, have stalled in the Senate as Mitch McConnell has refused to take a vote on them. These pieces of legislation range in matters from election security to gun control.
Democratic leaders have become increasingly fed up with McConnell and the Senate’s inaction. Today, using his hated moniker, Moscow Mitch, Pelosi said the Senate Majority Leader is killing all of congress’ legislation.
While speaking with reporters, Pelosi said, “We’ve sent our legislation to the Senate. Moscow Mitch says he is the grim reaper. Imagine describing yourself as the grim reaper, that he’s going to bury all this legislation. . All this legislation is alive and well in the public.”

McConnell have himself the grim reaper nickname earlier this year while speaking at an event in Kentucky. He told the attendees he would block Democratic and progressive legislation for as long as he had the power.
“If I’m still the majority leader in the Senate think of me as the Grim Reaper,” said McConnell. “None of that stuff is going to pass. I guarantee you that if I’m the last man standing and I’m still the majority leader, it ain’t happening. I can promise you.”
The Senate Majority Leader concluded his April statements by saying, “Are we going to turn this into a socialist country? Don’t assume it cannot happen,” he added on Monday. “It will all be in the hands, I think, of the voters of this country next year.”
