Following his 2020 election loss, Donald Trump and his aides were desperate for him to stay in office. There were a number of schemes created by his legal team. One of these included the use of fake electors.

The fake electors were to go to statehouses in states that Joe Biden narrowly won and create false certificates. The hope was that Vice President Mike Pence would throw out the original electoral votes and replace them with these false ones. The plan was unconstitutional and Pence refused to go along with it.
More information has since come out about the plan and some of the false electors have been identified. Kelly Ruh was one of them. The Wisconsin Republican served as an alderperson in De Pere, near Green Bay. But she lost her seat last night in an election against Pamela Gantz.
Poll worker Pamela Gantz's victory over fraudulent elector Kelly Ruh for De Pere Alder, 570 votes to 452, is a win in a small election that sends a big message: If you try to undermine Wisconsin's democracy, you will be held accountable. Voters *like* democracy. Congrats, Pamela! https://t.co/khFxs6neW9

Gantz, a former poll worker, defeated Ruh by a margin of 570 votes to 452. She said of her victory, “Our campaign was about restoring trust in our local officials and focusing on the local issues that matter to us as a community. I promise not to use my position to influence any national elections or support conspiracies. I promise to keep it local and promote fair and free elections for our community.”
