Oath Keeper Stewart Rhodes Says Trump Needs to ‘Step Up’ and Raise Money For Group’s Legal Defense

Donald Trump has a very long history of stiffing people who have done work for him. The latest example of this is Rudy Giuliani, who served as a lawyer for the former President. Not only has Trump not helped with Giuliani’s legal bills, but he also didn’t even pay him for his services.

FORT WORTH, TX – FEBRUARY 28: Stewart Rhodes, founder of Oath Keepers, told The Washington Post in Fort Worth, Texas, that the government is trying to inflate the rogue actions of a few members into an alleged conspiracy committed by the organization on Jan. 6, 2021. Stewart Rhodes is the latest person to think Trump may do something to help them. The leader of the Oath Keeper recently called on Trump to do more to help his group.

On a phone call from prison, Rhodes complained:

“The GOP is not helping at all. And quite frankly, President Trump, I’ll give him props for saying he may pardon us if he’s re-elected, but he needs to step up. And his supporters need to raise money for our legal defense. Because he is a co-defendant along with me and the Oath Keepers in several civil suits. Ultimately, he’s a criminal target as well.”
